I am a retired school teacher of 35 years. I became interested in genealogy while researching my father's family. Although he was raised as Frank Gerald Farren,my father's biological father's name was Frank J. Barker. Frank Barker was Little Bessie Barker's brother born in 1886. Through research I was able to find the Barker family in Utah, a loving and caring family not much different from the one I come from. I only wish my father would have had the chance to have known them.
I have a wife of 37 years. We have three sons and a daughter, and four grandsons. Our family is a very close family and we spend much time together. My wife and I are very proud of our children.
My Grandfather has been lost since 1918 and no one in the Barker family knows where he disapeared to. He left Utah just before my father was born. He was a barber and in 1910 worked for the Rio Grande & Denver railroad.
It has become my challenge in life to find him and his last resting place. Any information would be appreciated.

RE: John J. Barker
Just sent you a couple of email (your aol account) you will find interesting.

Also, I just went through every 1914 Utah birth certificate for Carbon county looking for Arthur.
No luck, I saw nothing familiar at all.

I also went through Nov 1913 but there was nothing there also.

RE: John J. Barker
Just a quick note (its getting late for me!). If you wouldn't mind giving me your email address I will show you exactly where I fit in. Also, I would love to "talk" to you about your grandfather. I have always been really confused about that 1920 Census record from Castle Rock, Carbon, Utah. And of course the 3 regular marriages of your great grandmother are also confusing (not to mention the apparently unofficial marriage). I have never been able to resolve the dates of her marriage with the associated census records.

John J Barker
Hi Frank, my name is Dale Keim and I am one of
your Barkers through my mother Phyllis Eileen Barker Keim. I was wondering where you got the picture of John J Barker from and if you have any others? Also, the Find A Grave photo is a little blurry, do you have a better one?

Would love to hear from you

Bessie Barker

I happened upon the memorial of Bessie Barker and it moved me to tears.

Thank you for sharing her personal story, and thank you for keeping her memory alive, even in total strangers like me.

Your bronze figurine of her is simply beautiful. I can tell that she means so very much to you.

This is Find A Grave at its best! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for allowing me to use your photos.
I would be glad to send you an invite to my Leonard tree and will do so immediately.
I hope you can find something in my tree to help you in your search for your Grandfather.
Thank you again,

Bessie Barker
I just found Find A Grave Memorial# 14751736 of little Bessie Barker.
I have to tell you, it was the most moving thing I have read in a long time. Even though it was over 100 years ago, I wept tears for the little girl and her family.
I have data on the Barker family in my Leonard Tree on and would like to include the picture and story of Bessie but knowing how personal this is, I wanted to ask before I did so.
Thank you,
Rita DonCarlos
