Mary Jackman photo added to duplicate memorial
Please move your very nice photo on duplicate memorial page #65259840 that was created in 2011 to the original page for that person #35110520 that was already created, and had all of the information and location in 2009. It had the full info and a photo on it so there was no reason for them to create a duplicate, which is against Findagrave rules (and will be deleted by site management). Let's encourage people to stop making duplicate pages and disregarding the effort that was already donated by earlier members, that helped make this the great site it is today! Thanks so much for your help on this matter, because we can certainly have more than one photo, especially of these old historic beauties!

You will probably have to wait for a while before your reqest is answer. Remember that Find of Grave probably have hundreds if not thousands of requests every day.

The contributor thickellb has been a member of Find A Grave for over five years. She should be aware of the changes of duplicating another memorial.

I'm like you, I don't want to own any duplicated memorials. However, I do occassionaly make one.

I was informed today, I have duplicated a memorial. If that proves true, I will delete mine.

I believe you made the right decision. The same day I receive your e-mail, I received another e-mail from another contributor informing me that my memorial in another cemetery had been duplicated. I checked it out and it was the same contributor who duplicated Henry's memorial, also duplicated another of my memorial in another cemetery. This contributor seems to duplicate other contributors memorials on a regular basis.

RE: Henry Davis @ Missouri Training School for Boys

There's are three ways to do this.

1st, I could simply delete my memeorial but if I do, I'm no longer the creator of the memorial and the person would made an illegal duplicate becomes the creator. This is no option to me, because I don't reward people who breaks the rules. This is not the first time this contributor has made duplicates of other people memorials. We all slip up from time to time and if I make an illegal duplicate, I delete it as quick as possible when informed.

2nd, contact the contributor you got the memorial from, explain to them that their memorial is a duplicate and you want to transfer the memorial back to them and have them delete it. Only the creator can delete a memorial. You cannot delete a memorial that has be transfer to you. If you get no answer you go to.....

3rd, You contact Find A Grave and tell them of the sitution and let them reslove it.

Ps: After the illegal memorial deleted, if you want a transfer of this person, let me know and I will grant it to you.

Your request is denied. Read the rules on how Find A Grave determine who owns a memorial.

Your problem is that you rquested the illegal memorial (2010) to be transfered to you.

Had you came to me, the legal owner (2008) of the memorial, I might have given it to you if you were related to this person.

Sorry. If you don't like the Find A Grave rules, I suggest you contact them. Maybe the two of you can work something out.

RE: Walnut Grove Cemetery Boonville Missouri
Most likely! I have many buried in both the Cemeteries located in that area of Boonville. I'll have to go to my Ged file to see which ones and get back to you later. I'm playing catch up with all my online activities now that I'm back on. Do you live in Boonville? Best Wishes, Lettie
