At Holy Cross,
Barbara, I go to Holy Cross 2 times a week. They will not give out locations unless you are family. I am too well know to get locations now. If you would consider calling the cemetery and getting the location, send it to me on my member page,I will be pleased to do this for you. James

I know. I went back a second time and located markers around where she should be. I decided a photo of the general area was better than nothing. It is a nice, small cemetery with many old trees. There are a number of unmarked graves in the general area.

That is so interesting. Living in California all 78 years of my live and not making the connection. I was so shocked in him being buried here in CA. His sister Sarah was living in Sacramento and also my gt grandmother Samuel's niece that it makes sense. Being from Indiana and finding his death in their newspaper didn't mean he died there as I thought. As thy have my gt grandparents in their paper also and they married in Sacramento.
Anyway I could manage his site? If not that is ok, but would love to put him with his family as it is so sad he is there in Placer County alone. I know that is silly, but I would love to connect him to his parents.
Thank you so much for correcting his name and the info on what was going on. Wonder if he died of TB and his niece and nephew did here in CA?

|Lorna T.||S. Y. Massey|
Hello, I am almost certain this is my 2nd Great Granduncle. If you look close it is S. V. Massey. Look at the y in Massey.
My Samuel V. Massey was born about 1831 in Montgomery, Ohio and lived in South Bend, St. Joseph County, IN and died 21 Oct 1861, I thought in So Bend, but his sister Sarah and my gt grandmother moved to California. This must be my Samuel V. Massey....all fits
But, you will see the initial is V when you look at the Y.
Thank you so much.

I connected him to Nancy but I recall that one cant connect parents to children.. that the children connect into the parents. If there is a way to, I would be happy to. Thx. DAR
Barbara, I was so glad to find that someone had added Deadwood Cemetery. I was reading an article in our local paper this AM re the Western States Trail in the Sierras. A yearly 100 Mile Endurance Run happens once a year in this area. The mention of Deadwood triggered my memory. I have photos of that cemetery that I took in 2001.
I've added 2 photos of the cemetery entrance and 1 of the memorial with names that you and one other person have added to Find a Grave. The photos are "pending."
If you have not been there, Deadwood is in a very remote location. A beautiful place with lots of history. It is just up the road in the Sierra Nevada Mts from where I live.
I hope the photos will be added. This is the first admission that I've gotten "pending" msg.

I can't prove it, but it all adds up. May I use a copy of your picture. I believe he is the missing Daniel down from Nathan Baker 1760-1836 minister at Pompey, NY. Thank you

Thank you Barbara. Lennie's mom was named Barbara and I thought maybe she had added the photo when I saw the name. I don't have any idea if she is even alive. Lennie was my first love, so many years ago! Thank you for your help!
