Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am retired and when not busy with
family and church matters I spend
my time on family history and genealogy.
I try to visit old graveyards before
others who tend to focus only on their own
family or short change the survey
due to the effort required.
This has been a favorite pastime
since 2001, before Findagrave or

I am closely related to but a few
folks I add listings and photos for.
Obviously I don't know your family history so if you want it added send it in or request a transfer.
I have and support hundreds of thousands of listings and photos on my site and here.
I welcome anyone needing help on this or any other site I support including these two:

Southern Middle Tennessee:

North Middle Alabama:

My emphasis is cemetery location, or getting the grave listing into the correct cemetery. Please don't guess at it. I see so many errors on this site regarding that. If you are having problems with location feel free to ask me; I know about where every graveyard is located; and the proper cemetery name in northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee. In other words I have cemetery books on the following counties and use these as my references:
Maury Co. Tennessee - Giles Co. Tennessee -Lincoln County Tennessee - Marshall Co. Tennessee - Bedford Co. Tennessee - Lawrence Co. Tennessee
Madison Co. Alabama Vol 1 & 11 - Limestone Co. Alabama - Bits and peices on Lawrence Co. Al Colbert Co. Alabama and Lauderdale County Al.

RE: Freemans in t old City Cemetery
Thanks. These are my 4th Great grandparents. I have them posted on my page and have tried for a long time for exact plot. Hopefully it will confirm.

RE: Freemans in t old City Cemetery
My two Freeman's would have died about 1849 and 1852 according to all the records I have. Does the book have dates, if not the names of the two you found with no markers. We will be travelling back there in April and I will do more looking in the library and talk to Al Simmons as well. My goal is to set markers if I ever get confirmation and plot numbers. Thanks for all your work. It is much appreciated.

RE: James Blakemore
Thank you very much. This will get him proven in DAR. His father and grandfather are already proven I just needed dates for him.

Picture of Zana Pearl "Polly" Brown Young
Polly was my grandmother. You posted a photo of her last year that I'm guessing is from the 1980s at her house - now my house. I know I am related to some Austin's and wonder if you have any other photos of her or anyone in my, possibly our, family. (or photos of her/my house)
Thank you, Katrina

RE: Freemans in t old City Cemetery
Evidence that I found in the genealogy section at the Shelbyville library but a researcher in 1979 suggests it. But since you claim you have fully researched that cemetery the info may be incorrect. When I was there last year I could not confirm and there are some broken up markers especially in the old section. Do you have a full list of the broken ones or the unmarked graves that could refute it? Any help appreciated.

RE: Mariah Moffett/Maria B. Moffett
Thank you for your reply, and after I sent my message I thought that perhaps yo didn't need the extra interest in this particular memorial. It's very possible that the decision was made to bury her under her maiden name. However, the name MARIA (you typed in Mariah) is correct according to the records I found. I'm not really researching it in depth as I simply ran onto it through other research, and had a little interest in it due to stories passed down in my family. I'm not related at all to my knowledge. Thank you. Happy Trails, Nancy

Bayless Cemetery, Deposit, Madison, AL
I added my cousin Alvan O. GRAVES just today to this cemetery because it was passed on in our family line that he is buried in this cemetery - location the same as you have on this cemetery. You added in your notes for this cemetery in 2014 that there were GRAVES buried there. I was wondering if when you went there if you saw a readable marker for Alvan and have a photo of that one? I know this is a long shot but thought I'd ask.

Thank you so much,
Dianne, San Diego Co, CA volunteer
