To answer an unasked question, as the eldest of eight children, I became the unofficial keeper of tales at an early age. I started doing genealogy in earnest about 1990 when I discovered I have a talent for doing research, while studying for my BA in Art History at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan. My father was a Professional Photographer in Pontiac for over 30 years and he taught his children his craft and instilled in us a love of good photography. Through the years I have been amassing my own collection of family memorial photographs that I call "Engraved in Stone". A substantial amount of this collection was captured on film and has yet to be digitized. Finding "Find a Grave" has given me a way to share those photographs easily and economically with family members. Helping people like you, gentle reader, is a pleasure because I enjoy doing the research just as much as I enjoy wandering the cemeteries and taking pictures.|

Thank you so much for the photo of my great grandmothers grave in Mt Hope Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan. I use to go visit it quite a bit when I lived in Pontiac many years ago. It was so sad for me to see as I know she was a very depressed sad woman when she lived and now she is buried there all alone. I would sit and just talk to her there to let her know that even though I never knew her she did make a great impact on my own mother who loved her dearly. Thanks again for doing this for me and others
