I've been researching my families for over 30 years. Currently, I'm trying to scan & share a large collection of old family photographs and documents that have come to me from various relatives, mostly my late grandmother.|
As I scan & prepare the photographs, I'm trying to post as many as possible to findagrave for others to enjoy. Especially the very old ones. Some that are labeled are not of known family connections so I'm also researching the names in an attempt to identify them.
One that I am very proud of is Jesse Elton McEwen, buried at Palms Woodland Cemetery, Miami-Dade Co FL. It took a fair amount of research to figure out that he is probably not related, but simply a neighbor of an ancestor in Carroll Co GA. I've created a memorial for him with the information I collected. Please visit his site and show him some love.
Another memorial that I'm very proud of is for my ancestor, William Francis Marion Nobles, who died as a prisoner of war at Camp Douglas IL. His final resting place is Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co IL. Please visit him also.
I hope you enjoy visiting my paternal great grandfather, Hilborn Whit Hulsey. My maternal grandfather, Rev Virgil Sizemore, preached his funeral before there was a family connection. My parents were only 10 years old and I don't think they met until a few years later. If you know any of the people mentioned that aren't linked, please let me know.
If you appreciate the storytellers, you will enjoy visiting the page of my distant cousin, James Walter Estes, one of the best! My favorite from him concerns the 1887 funeral of another distant cousin, John Jacob Bauknight. It became known locally as the Tanners Church stampede.
The pallbearers & escorts for my cousin-in-law, William C Sanders, is essentially a Who's Who in the reconstruction of Atlanta and were instrumental in making it the great city it is today. Scroll down his obituary from the Atlanta Constitution and click their links. Many of them have bios.
Surnames I'm connected to include: Adair, Ashworth, Barnett, Beam, Black, Burks, Cates, Clore, Crow, Dickson, Dunson, Estes, Gilbert, Hendrix, Hulsey, Leathers, Lowe, Lyle, McBrayer, McGlathery, Meadors, Mobley, Mote/Motte, Nobles, Pate, Parr, Pinson, Reid, Sanders, Simonton, Sizemore, Stanford, Steele, Stephens, Tomme, Vining, Waldrop, Williams, and others.
Places I'm particularly connected to include: Laurens Co SC, Henry & Clayton Co GA, Carroll & Haralson Co GA, and Blount & Cullman Co AL.

Thank you for letting me know - I was pulling from my data and I will update it to reflect the corrections.

Thank you. I am trying to figure which Hulsey you belong to and assume it's from Nannie Eleanor Freeman. Are you a descendant of Aunt Carrie's? Was Nannie's name Nancy? Do you have burial place for Elton Roxie McCay Coppinger and her husband?
Please get in touch at email@example.com. I married a son of Mary Ann Hulsey Brown.
Thanks for pinching me! J/K!! Really, thank you for bringing it to my attention that I did not complete her memorial. Lw

Thank you so much for your kind note. It is truly appreciated. The memorial for William Sanders looks terrific! I agree with Judy -- you did a spectacular job! Take care.

Hulsey's brother Gurthrie was my great grand father and their parents were Thomas Allen Cooley and Nancy Ann Francis Smith. I am not sure why he was named Hulsey as that name only appears with him in my family tree. It does make me wonder if Thomas and Nancy knew someone named Hulsey and were close enough to them to name him after them.

You are most welcome. And, his page looks wonderful. I can tell you did a lot of work on it. I added several death certificates on ones that I could. I also linked James Edward Hickey to his parents. His GGrandparents were already linked on the Grandparents page, so the links extended out quite a bit. I love it when people like you really maintain a page and try to add everything they can. You made my day !!
