|I have been researching my family tree for 25+ years. I found Find A Grave and have been thrilled to find so many of my relatives that have memorials. Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who have donated their time and effort to make this site such a success. I am recently retired and looking forward to having more time to devote to adding memorials myself. I love cemeteries and seeing all the interesting grave markers.I have spent thousands of hours over many years researching my family and have had a lot of enjoyment in doing so. I have met many wonderful people and connected with long lost relatives, which has been a great joy. I welcome corrections and additional information. Please use the edit button if you have information to add and I will get the memorial updated.|

Thanks. skydancr has created a memorial, so I submitted your info to her as edits.

I have deleted my memorial to her, so you can create one.

You're very welcome! I came across her mother's obituary when copying another that I needed.

Send me your email address. You can add it to a response here and after I use the address, I will delete it.
I have Walter Hada's obit. Do you want it? It mentions Viola Kent as his wife at the time of his death, mentions Lawrence and Edward as stepsons, and other kids.

Sounds good ... hope you hear from Paul soon. Let me know if there's anything else I can do as I just hate not having been able to find Fred! Thanks.

Hello again! It's been a while ... how've you been? Finding Fred has been quite the challenge. I was helping someone from the Heise branch of your tree with research and, in the process of trying to pindown just where Fred is buried, it's ended in an unsolved mystery. Here's what I learned. Fred's death record only notes burial was in the town of Scott and the newspaper write-up was of no help either. So I went out to Snow Hill and looked at every single headstone with an emphasis on the oldest ones. There are some missing headstones so he could, indeed, be there. St. Paul's Church cemetery is less than half a mile down the road so I also went there and checked every single headstone. Again, there may be some missing ones in that old section, and the ones that are left are quite difficult to read. There was one that was kind of interesting in that the surname may have begun with an "H" (but it could also have been a "W"). I then made some calls trying to find the sexton of that cemetery hoping he/she would look back in their records ... they were not helpful (and it was the strangest phone call I've ever had). I then called someone who I know sits on the Lincoln County Cemetery Board and it was his opinion that Snow Hill probably has the best kept records of all the local cemeteries and if Fred is not noted to be there, he probably isn't. However, that doesn't mean he's not there. If I remember correctly, two or three of Fred's adult children chose burial at Snow Hill. Do you think it was presumed he was buried there based on their location? I think we need to find the records kept by St. Paul's Church to determine if we can rule out burial there but the church closed its doors years ago (the church is still standing but has clearly been abandoned). I don't know where they could be or who to contact to find out but the person I was doing the research for didn't want me to spend any more time on it. I can put him back in Snow Hill for the time being if you prefer. What do you think? Sheryl

Gosh, This is one of those posts that the person wont respond. These go in my backlog and then in a year or two someone will find it and kindly let me know and I will try again to fix it to no avail. Isn't it sad when folks do such a good job posting graves but just won't work with other volunteers. Thanks so much for your help. I'll keep at it until I forget. LOL and I'm sure there will be other fish to fry in the meantime. Take care.
