"Geologists have a saying: rocks remember."
1930 ~ 2012
For his final task on the Moon, Neil left a small package filled with items memorializing previously deceased pioneers in space exploration, including Soviet cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin and Vladimir Komarov, and Apollo 1 astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee.
Now it's Neil's turn, and our turn to memorialize him.
His family released the following statement:
"For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink."

Got your msg. about the Janeks. I believe I have added everything you requested. I really look forward to the
"write ups" you plan to send. I most certainly will add them to their respective memorials. I wish I had known the Janeks because I am very interested in that history. I see similar things starting to happen in this country. The country I love and don't want to lose.

Laura, I just now realized you sponsored both Mr. & Mrs. Janek's memorials. Your generosity is very much appreciated. It is obvious these two people were dear to you.

I've transferred George, Betty & Fidelia to your care. Sounds like you've had more than your fair share of problems lately. My sincere condolences on the loss of your mom.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a happier New Year.

Laura - Thank you so much for the reply. After adding your family line to my ancestry tree, we are 5th cousins 1x removed ;). Our common ancestor is James A. Virgil (1748 - 1814). I was fascinated with your Virgil history. My line continues down thru William B. Virgil 1775-1859 (brother of Jacob Valentine Virgil) to George William Virgil 1810-1886 to Francis Virgil 1840-1924. Francis "Frank" came to Michigan from Fabius, New York. Around 1894 he left for Seattle, Washington. One of his sons was my grandfather George Virgil 1880-1976. He was born and lived his entire life in Midland, Michigan. His son, my father was Warren Harding "Pete" Virgil 1921-1978. Finding other Virgil family is incredible; love genealogy connections! Feel free to correspond with me thru my email of email@example.com Take care, Claudia :)

I'm sorry you have been so sick. I know that I don't want to do anything when I am sick.
I just got back from Virginia(my daughter's) for the holiday. But I am tickled that I am hearing from you. I couldn't wait to get home so that I could get on my computer to answer you.
This is what I have researched: Your father was Samuel James Stovall. His father was Joseph Alexander Stovall who married Louisa Lavinia Nunley. Joseph Alexander was the son of William B. Stovall and from what I have researched, his wife was Jane Paluska Enis. I can find nothing on their marriage but I have the probate where she signs as his wife Jane P. Stovall and I have a document that states her name as Paluska. Then I have a book on the Enis family that states that she left home and went to Alabama somewhere. I am also in the Enis circle for DNA. Also, William B supposedly was born in Alabama. Their first child, John Thomas was born in Alabama.
Joseph Alexander had another child, Joseph W. Stovall was born in 1893. Back in those days someone would have kept a boy child as he was good to work on the farm as he got older. After Joseph Alexander died, Louisa remarried to Wiley Enis and they had another child, Elizabeth. On the 1900 census these are the children of Louisa:
Elizabeth Enis 1
Mattie J Stovall 9
Samuel J Stovall 8
Joseph W Stovall 6
I wonder if it was Mattie and Elizabeth that were bounced around along with Samuel. Joseph Alexander died about 1894, about the year that Joseph was born.
As for all the research your aunt did...I understand from Joyce Celia Duggar that all of it was lost in a move. So sad...:(.
I know that Joyce is working on genealogy but she is accepting what is on the web from others that isn't verified. I was hoping we could work together but for DAR purposes I have to prove everything. If I could just get past William B, I think the rest is verified. There was only one Stovall that came to his country and we are all descendants of that one guy.
I would love to speak with your mom's cousin. Do you think that is possible. I have done a lot of research but William B. is a puzzle. I wonder if she would know anything about him.
William B. had 8 children:
Ages in 1860:
Thomas Stovall 15
Melceua Stovall 12
Nancy 10 (Not on census ???)
Amanda Stovall 8
Sola Stovall 6
Eliza Stovall 4
Joseph Alexander Stovall 2
Margaret born 1861
William B. died in 1870.
This is what I have found so far. Many online say that William B's father is Lewis but there is no proof of that. Plus all of Lewis' children were born in GA. William B. was born in AL from the census data.
I would love your private email. I dislike going through Find A Grave. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I'd love to speak to your 91 year old cousin. Maybe she can verify some of my research.
Thank you for answering.
