Bio Photo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana, and joined the Air Force at an early age. After two careers (USAF and U.S. Capitol Police), two marriages (death and divorce) and wonderful children AND grandchildren, I completely retired and relocated to North Carolina. I enjoy searching the past..., for myself and others.

I have also enjoyed being a contributor to this excellent website. Although Father Time is "catching up,” I still periodically visit cemeteries for my own purposes or upon request to photograph and add to graves from that visit. I feel that each memorial I create has a story to tell and will hopefully be found by a loved one. If my entries prove incorrect or incomplete, or you would prefer to replace with your own data, please let me know. I am always willing to make a change for the improvement of a memorial. I will also consider reasonable requests for transfer. Please use the EDIT tab on the applicable memorial(s).

PLEASE DO NOT PLACE A DEATH RECORD ON THE MEMORIALS THAT I MANAGE. If you feel that something pertinent is on the record that I have overlooked in the bio, send me an EDIT request.

PLEASE DO NOT PLACE MULTIPLE PHOTOS OF THE SAME MARKER, AREA, ETC., ON A MEMORIAL. Remember that only five slots are allocated for photographs and excessive photographs of one item may, regretfully, exclude the addition of personal photographs at a later date.

It would be nice to receive notice, via EDIT, when any photo is placed on a memorial that I maintain. Thanks in advance.

I do not display a list of Find A Grave Friends..., there are far too many. Rest assured, if you have helped me or I have helped you, then you ARE My Friend.

ADDENDUM: Photographs I have taken at burial locations may be used by others for any legitimate purpose (excluding reposting on other Find A Grave memorials). Hopefully, I would be given credit for the work. Please be aware that personal photographs of family, etc., may fall within the purview of copyright as stated in the Find A Grave guidelines.

Please feel free to view the memorials and the personal photographs I have posted, especially those of my deceased wife COLLEEN, my DAD, MOTHER and our extended family, including the Mother and Father of my second wife and her extended family.

RE: re: Dittemore
David, I just looked at your profile and you really had a nice looking wife. You also had courage to marry more than once. lol I have been divorced for 37 years and it has been, well trying at times. I too have 2 great kids and I was an Air Force bride. He went but I kept his mother and sisters.

RE: re: Dittemore
I have to say, I do not have you listed and I thought until recently I had done a pretty good job. Can you tell me your line please. I am going to have to really work hard at this for a while. I just found a whole line for John Hartmans daughter, Margaret. She spelled her name funny and I did have he married to a Nehs but did not realize that she was ours. So I am not nearly as smart as I thought I was. Actually I already knew I was not the sharpest pencil in the box. lol

RE: re Edwin Dittemore
David, I have been working on this family for at least 25 or more years so I do have a lot. I have no idea what y0u have but, if you have back to John Hartman Dittemore & Catherine Hertzel, I come from both families. I also come down their daughter Lydia who married John Cotter. And her brother Adam married my g----grandmother, Mary Berger, widow of Samuel Yeakley. All the kid just started out marrying into each of their families and my Yeakley GGrandmother married her first hisbands cousin, a Dittemore too. lol

If you think I have something you want, just speak up. By the first of the year I am going to put up the final tree on rootsweb and put it all away. I think I need a new hobby, lol.

RE: Re:Harte Eloise Winfree Lawson Harrelson Photo
Regarding your message (below):

I am sorry that I misunderstood your permissions statement. The photo has been removed from Richard Harrelson's Memorial.

Previous message from David Oxford:
Hi – In response to your April 24th msg, the Harrelson plaque photo and close-up of Mrs. Harrelson’s inset was taken in 2008 and well before Mr. Harrelson’s death. Because he was alive, his inset was incomplete and no photo was taken. Regarding the free use of my photos, my profile bio clearly states, “Photographs I have taken at burial locations may be used by others for any legitimate purpose (excluding reposting on other Find A Grave memorials).” May I request that my photo on Mr. Harrelson’s memorial be removed. I suggest that you place a request, via his memorial, for a current photo. There are many volunteers in this area. Thank you.

RE: Lucian Chandler
Thank you for letting me know about Lucian's real grave site. I wasn't sure how to do a "hyperlink" but I added the memorial number to his bio. I appreciate your help! Kim

Thanks, David, for the transfers. You can give me Dellar Driver, too.

RE: USSAH National Cemetery Photographs
Those were extra photos I took while fulfilling a request at a nearby grave; I added them because the images were roughly 18X higher resolution than the existing photos added ten years ago. I've found that photos on this site degrade over time and thought the backups might be appreciated. I am aware of the photo limit, which didn't seem to be an issue for memorials with one marker image and no flowers. And of course, as in this case, I'm happy to remove any unwanted photos -- they're gone.

RE: re: James A Phillips
You are quite welcome. Fortunately, his wife's side is still pretty legible compared to his side.
that's about the only way I was able to find him. Even then his inscription barely shows in the photograph.
