I have posted many pictures I have taken of headstones and copies of family photos that I own. I wanted to share them publicly, and I know people download them for personal use. I have seen my photos posted on the internet by other people who claim to have taken those pictures. Please do not take credit for my photos on this or another website.

Thank you for understanding. I would be honored to transfer him to you...would you like that? If there is anyone else I have in that cemetery that is related, please let me know. Blessings!
I would be happy to do your edit if you can send me proof. I don't know if you have ever been here, but our cities run into one another. You can live across the street from a hospital or nursing home and it can be in another city. There are many nursing homes and hospitals around. If you are getting the city from the Soc. Sec. Death Ind, it is where he last LIVED and they sent the check, and not always where he died. These are the reasons I do not put the city in until there is proof. I never mean to be disrespectful, but I like to have the facts right. So send me what info you have. Thank you for making memorials better!
I accepted the photo request for the above, but am unhappy with the way it turned out as the niche is in a very hard spot to photograph. I am going to try for another one when I go out there again. In the meantime, I posted what I have. Sorry!
|Jean Whitney||RE: Laura Reed|
I'm glad I could help. Laura is my great-grandmother's sister-in-law, so I have been doing my own research on the Reed line, and had come up with the information that way. I keep checking for brother Horace and wife Nellie, which also have a connection with my line. One of these days I'm sure they will show up.

I had been looking at the 1850 Census with Ezekiel Stanton Gavitt (younger bro of my wife's 3G GM) and my wife's 4G GF William Gavit, who was 85 then, and wondered who Nathan Shinn was. Nathan Shinn's company was F, not E, per the tombstone and VA records, by the way. Of Nathan's children, I saw a death certificate on seekingmichigan.org for George P. Shinn, 7-25-1939 in Detroit, and his sister Estella's husband William Walker, also in Detroit 7-13-1936. Estella was younger than the other siblings, married 3-22-1897 in Erie, Ohio. I didn't see anything for her death right away. I went to the Gavitt Cemetery in Ashley OH last fall, near the old Ezekiel Gavitt farmstead. Good Luck !

I deleted mine. We don't want two of them.

you are very welcome. It breaks my heart whenever there is an unmarked grave. Hope your research continues to go well.

Thanks for the compliment, Amy. I only do what I would hope someone would do for me. I am always sad when a grave is unmarked!
|Carl Nollen||James F Reed at Liberty|
I checked our Clerk of Court files for James Reed & found only an 1870 "equity" case which shows numerous times his name as J.F. Reed or Jas. F. Reed, or James F. Reed & his wife, Nancy, also mentioned. I went back to Liberty this afternoon & took a better picture & posted it which clearly shows now his middle initial is "F." There is no engraving between the period and the F. I am satisfied that his middle initial is F., not R., & I think it is appropriate to change your posting back to James F. Reed. The only other thing I can do is search the deed index to see if there is any record that actually shows his middle name.
|Carl Nollen||James Reed at Liberty Cemetery|
His marriage record says J.F.Reed married to Nancy Pack. No death record. I didn't find obituary in the 2 Knoxville newspapers. I will check further this Thursday in Knoxville for will/probate & land deed, & get back to you later this week.
