While posting my family tree, I've also set up some memorials for people who aren't in my family. If you find a relative among them and want a transfer, please let me know. I think family members usually do the best job of tending to the memorials.|
To err is human, to forgive is canine.
I'm in Washington state.

If you look at the listings, there is a duplicate for Ella Belknap as well. The town historian has the last name spelled with just one "p" so for now, I think I will just leave my duplicate up, just in case someone is searching for them with either spelling.

Hello Sharon, You sent a correction request but I'm sorry I don't understand what it is you are wanting. It states that her marriage and birth info are listed at Familysearch and you manage her father's memorial. Please let me know how I can be helpful.
Many Thanks--@ngel #47774099

Thank you for the data on the parents of Samuel Cavinee. I do have his Civil War papers, but they state only that he was born in Ohio. I do not know when I will get down to Logan, Hocking Co., Ohio, to look for an obituary for Samuel as I have to go though therapy for my knee and probably will have a knee replacement after Sept. 1st. As Art Linkletter said, "Getting old is not for sissies."

I've learned from being a Find A Grave volunteer there are a number of reasons why a grave is unmarked. Sometimes the cemeteries has a reason or perhaps get in contact with her niece that can provide the reasons their grave is unmarked. It could be simple enough that maybe she doesn't know where their buried...just assuming.
It is upsetting looking for a person and learn they have an unmarked grave. That's why Find A Grave is great for them to be remembered not as being an unmarked grave but as a person and connecting them with their relatives whom also has passed.
I apologize for the news you have learned about them but it's awesome you remember them.

There were 3 of us in the cemetery that day looking for the stone. We searched very carefully all around the other Cavinees and couldn't find it. Perhaps it is located elsewhere or has been buried overtime as have several others in the cemetery after they have fallen.

If you will please provide me with the memorial numbers for his parents, wife and son, I will gladly link their memorials to his.
Thank you. Mary Rose

Thanks Sharon for responding. I am helping a great-granddaughter of his (down thru Jenna Tempest and Samuel Millikin Kelly) with some research on her family.
She gave me some old research papers that her Aunt had done many, many years ago and she has his name as Richard Allen Skinner. That is where I got it from.

Plants had grown around it and had it covered. I tried to clean around the marker enough to get a decent photo. Glad to have been able to post the photo. I'll keep my eyes open in case I come across Zephaniah Walters.

I will not be going to that cemetery again for quite some time. Samuel's gravestone is so mired down in debris I doubt if anyone would want to clean it for fear of destroying it, or at the least, destroying the data on it.The last reading of the cemetery in 1999 stated the data on Samuel's stone as: Sam'l Cavinee, Co. H, 114 Ohio INF. There was a Civil Emblem with flag on his grave.
Do you have Civil War Record for Samuel? A picture of him? Bible Record of Samuel, Nancy, Solomon, Jacob & John? Let me know if you need copies of either of these & I will send them to you.
May I ask, "How are you related to Samuel, if you are?" My line is Samuel Cavinee, Sarah Ann Cavinee Love, Ora Orestus Love, Franklin Earl Love & me, Eileen Joan Love Beavers.
