Where did the time go?|
Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.
Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me.
Life must go on;
I forget just why.
-Edna St. Vincent Millay

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug."

I really wouldn't know where the older record would be archived. You might start with the Creig Hurtt Funeral Home in Mountain Grove, Mo. They are the only funeral home left in Mountain Grove the closest town to Fairview.

My pleasure! There are a total of 14 sisters listed on that stone--7 on each side. The memorial stands right beside a statue of the Virgin Mary.
I assume the second date inscribed beneath her name is the year in which she entered the order.

Thank you so much for the information. We were able to find the cemetery. We will update this site with more specifics soon!
|Roibeard||RE: Phebe Mulford|
You're very welcome. There are many Mulfords there. If you want anyone else just let me know.

Your welcome. We had fun doing it and we're very excited with all information on there. It was quite the jackpot!

Hi again. I found the book (Burials at the Sandy Spring Friends Meeting Graveyard and at the Woodside Cemetery 1754-2003). It indicates that she died at her residence, which was called Brook Grove. This is what they're talking about: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015051117664;view=1up;seq=124
If I've missed your point, please let me know.

Yes they do re-use the plots. I was surprised also. But the sites only have a certain lease and unless it is renewed then they re-use them.

Thanks! And you are welcome!

Thanks for your note. I believe I took the information from the Sandy Spring cemetery book. I'll try to dig it out (haven't seen it since we moved) and will get back to you.

I had my doubts as to whether they were both in that plot so I checked the other side of the monument and Philip was not mentioned there. But on the St Kilda Cemetery website they are both mentioned as being there.
