I am updating the Family history and I absolutely love this site. It is a wonderful way to remember Family and Friends who have left us. The main Family Names that I Research are Dunlap, Sweeten, Barr and Eakin. I am a Dunlap by birth. I appreciate all feedback or corrections to the Memorials that I maintain, and I would add that as far as Transfers go, I don't follow the Four-Generation rule. If I have added a Memorial for one of your relatives or friends and they are not a member of my family, please let me know and I will transfer the Memorial to you. As far as duplicates go, if I have made a duplicate please let me know. Not always, but a great deal of the time the Memorial I have created will have a great deal more information. Please let me know so that I can have the Memorials merged leaving management to you. Someone asked me recently if I was documenting my Family only. The answer is No, although I am trying to link everyone in my Family and keep an accurate record. Many other Contributors in my opinion are playing a numbers game and I think that they have lost sight of the original purpose of this site which is:

A: To Remember the Lives of Family and Friends,
B: To Create a Record of their Location,
C: To Use as a Genealogical Resource.

NOTE: I do not list living Children or Relatives on Memorials
unless it is part of a Genuine, Published Obituary.

NOTE: Please use ANY photos of mine that you wish. In addition, while I generally like Death Certificates on Memorials, I do draw the line at any Death Certificate that is 20 years old or newer.

NOTE: I have also noticed that photos are showing up on my Memorials without my getting a notice. If I did not thank people for their efforts in taking photos, please accept my thanks now.

Heartfelt Thanks: To my Cousin Donald Mitchell For His Generous Sharing of Family Photographs. What a Treasure He is to Me.

Special Note: It is my intention to turn these Memorials over to someone I can trust should I be unable in the future to care for them.

Blessed Be.

John Dunlap
Hi Rebecca –
I have a question on the Find A Grave Memorial #82246912 you maintain for John Dunlap (one of my 5th great grandfathers). The profile shows he was born in 1741 and died in 1798 at age 57, which matches info found on However, the inscription on the grave marker that has been uploaded to this profile shows this John Dunlap died in 1798 at age 37, not 57, which would have put his birth date in 1761. John Dunlap’s wife Sarah was born in 1763. It seems far more likely to me that John would have been two years older than his wife rather than 22 years. Therefore, I wonder if this is a second John Dunlap and there is a generation missing. This John could have been the son of the first John, or his brother James born in 1740. What do you think?

Hello! I just recently started to get very interested in finding information about my family. This site is wonderful! I was looking up information on my family and noticed you had posted a lot of information on them.. maybe you could help me fill in my family tree, or point me in the right direction?!

RE: Margaret Palmer Eakin Savage
Just FYI: A few days ago I sent letters to 4 of Margaret's great grandchildren (grandkids of her daughter Gladys) letting them know of the location of Margaret's ashes. Hopefully they will be interested in claiming the cremains. If that happens I'll let you know.
