Bio and Links
Bio Photo My researching of family began, after the birth of my grandson Max in 1997, when my daughter-in-law gave me a version of Family Tree Maker. As a child I always loved mysteries. I read my mother's Ellery Queen novels, watched Perry Mason episodes and my favorite board game was Clue. I always thought how challenging it would be to work as a detective. I guess, in my own way, I do.

I firmly believe that our ancestors deserve more than just dates on their memorials. It is because of that philosophy that I try to add as much of the information that is available to me. Thank you for either your help or your understanding when I fall short.

It is for that reason that I have stopped making transfers for right now. I have been backtracking my postings to make corrections or add information.

The surnames I am searching and recording;
from my paternal side are:
Gibson, Keller, Miller, Ploehs, Reed, Walkinshaw
from my maternal side, they are:
Beamer, Cunningham, Nelson, Peterson, Park, Parke, Parks, Perrell, Snow and Wiseman

On my husband's tree there are the following:
Mutscher, Oldendorf, vonGunden

The surname originated from 'von Gunten,' i.e. from the village of Gunten on Lake Thun in Kanton Bern, Switzerland. Hans von Gunten appeared in 1703 and 1704.

For those who wonder...
Why the number of memorials managed is higher than the number of memorials created?
This is due to some generous F*A*G contributors who decided to transfer some of their memorials to myself and others.
Thank you...
I feel honored to be one of the recipients entrusted to care for these postings.

RE: Correction
You are most welcome. My uncle was a brother to Willie Lee and his daughter Sue was in the same class in Independence, Va as my brother. Do not know about Sue's children to give any help there.
Looks like you have done a lot on the Find A Grave projects. Thank you for the time consuming efforts, I appreciate it.

Rebeckah Smith
I am a member of Find A Grave, but I am not very versed on how it works. I want to suggest some changes for the information on the above person, Rebeckah Smith. In some of the church records, her named was spelled "Rebecca". Although, there are differences in her age based upon the various census records, I have settled on 1806 as her DOB. Based on her marriage records, if she was born in 1915, whe would have been only 14 when she married. That is possible, but I am relying on the 1880 census. Her marriage bond record has confused her maiden name as well, and she has become a Cotton. If one examines the marriage record, one can understand how this happened when the "t" in Carlton was crossed. During her time, it is nearly impossible to find anyone named " Cotton", but there are plenty of "Carlton"s. In one of the census records she has a relative living with her, with the last name of Carlton. I hope that you find this helpful. She was my 3x great grandmother. Nyal Cannon

Hi, Thanks for letting me know about the multiple entries - I did not do it - Find a grave did - all my "L's" from a speadsheet upload went multiple times - up to 11 times. Waiting for them to fix it - but can't get a response to the problem.
Thanks anyway!

Geo. Mutscher
Hi Marcia,
I am responding to your request for a transfer of George Mutscher's memorial. Generally I am happy to transfer memorials as long as the recipient is also willing to make transfers to others. Could you explain what you mean by "It is for that reason that I have stopped making transfers for right now" on your bio page?
Thank you
