Bio and Links
Bio Photo Greetings fellow Find A Grave members. I'm Mike Tillinghast and live in Northern Ohio and am working on my family genealogy. I am a direct descendant of Pardon Tillinghast. I am his 11th Generation Great Grandson and the 7th generation on our Tillinghast Family Farm. My fraternal twin brother and I raise cattle and horses.

Also researching other family relatives: Sommers, Gardner, Stacey, Hine, Welch, Hill, Fennell and Burnham.

I am a photo volunteer for Find A Grave. It is a very good past time and I enjoy "Headstone Hopping" all around Erie and Huron Counties. It is very rewarding to assist families and provide genealogical information. I also enjoy the excitement and satisfaction when I find that elusive headstone I've been looking for after a long challenging search.

Also taking photos of grave sites in area cemeteries for our local Historical Society.

One impressive thing I have observed in every cemetery I have been in is that veterans from the Revolutionary War to the present have veteran markers at their grave sites. As a Navy veteran, I am very pleased that my fellow veterans from all branches are remembered. One of my ongoing local cemetery projects is to obtain grave markers for veterans that do not have one.

My long range intent is to provide photos and/or Memorials for those in area cemeteries who do not have them.

With the exception of my relatives, I will be glad to transfer any memorial. Please feel free to ask.

A Yeaman
Mike, Need some help again. I entered a man by the name of A. Yeaman. He is buried in the old part 1841, Row 12 North, stone 7. The book states (L22, B4- no burial records. The next time you get to Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery, I am wondering if you could check and see if there is a headstone. Thanks, Barb

Just FYI, for Memorial No. 135750980 you miscalculated Lydia's birth day by 1 day. She was born on 20 Dec 1766, not 21.

I always use this calculator to make sure the birth dates are correct:

Canfield Cemetery
Mike, I need a little help. Do you have any idea when the Canfield Cem came into origin? I have people buried at Wakeman Township Cem, and the list was published in the Firelands Pioneer in 1860 of people buried there. I am now running across the same people buried elsewhere, such as Canfield Cem.

I found a list of 30 cemeteries that are within less than 2 miles of the Canfield Cemetery, and Wakeman Township is one of them.

Those are the main names I am questioning (although I am running across a few others)-
They are the Canfields:
The first burials I see are for Clarissa Hanford 1831, Calvet Hanford 1834, Alban J Canfield 1836, and Alexander Hanford 1837.

I just don't understand why they are listed in 2 diff places

I don't know how to do a cenotaph, and I don't mind deleting, but because they are listed in the 2 diff cemeteries, I believe they should be noted as such.

Barb
