Doughtys in New England States
Hi Bob, I am a double Doughty. My paternal side is Doughty and my maternal side is Doty. I will traveling the New England states this summer researching the Doughty/Doty families in that area. Do you have any suggestions on where the best places are to research? Open to any & all suggestions. Thanks, Virginia (Doughty) Vaught

George Doughty
Hi Robert, I have been struggling with documenting an ancestor, George Doughty, as the son of Samuel and Sarah Mann Doughty. This would make him a brother to William. George is documented to have been born in 1813, and married a woman named Sabine or Sabrina, but that is all I know. Have you ever come across these names in your research?

My Father-in-law was Norris Raymond Doughty, son of Walter Bertram Doughty and grandson of Hiram Norris Doughty.

I am just restarting my genealogical research.

Great Work!
Robert,

You were spot on with your research for Theodore F Brockhouse (69506274). I have linked his wife Elvira (Erickson) Brockhouse to him. The time you invested in his memorial will keep his memory alive. It is nice to see people take time to make quality memorials and not just large quantities of them. Keep going with the excellent work. Kudos!

RE: Gravestone location
Robert, I deleted the headstone photo of Catherine. Let me do some investigating on my end and see what is up. Thanks for your patience.

Dupcavage
Robert,

I tried to fulfill your photo request from 2013 for Matthew and Mary Dupcavage. The cemetery has no record for this name. Do you have any further info I could refer to that might help? I live about 50 miles from this cemetery but I also have family interred there so I go there periodically and noticed your request was made back in 2013 and thought I could be of help. If you can supply any further information I'll see what I can do to help you.

Rosemary

RE: John Thomas Clifton
Bob,
I actually researched all of John Thomas Clifton's first family, not several generations but I did manage to get the immediate family of each child. This family has been quite a labor for me. When I started this all I had was a marriage record for Abigail and John in WV, which had a bunch of info on it that wasn't quite right. His death was not reported, we have a date of death from his burial record. Her death was reported but she was listed as A.R.Clifton and a man lol. There wasn't any online census records etc when I started so it took me two years to find her first husbands name (which is my line). I got that thanks to a lookup volunteer in England because the World Wide Web did at least have "genealogy boards" at that time. The ship records weren't online, they were still indexed and in New York or Washington DC or some such nonsense. I remember finding that ship record back in 2003 or so and I was so stoked! All of the family here thought Abigail came to America with her first husband and finding that record changed every bit of our research. I am so thankful for Ancestry.com and Rootsweb. There is quite a few Clifton researchers here from his second family if you are interested. I share DNA with a couple of Abigail's descendant's, both of them are from the Clifton line. Do you participate in any of the DNA sites? I tried to find living relatives for his first family for a few years but only two of them responded, Elizabeth was one of them. I was really hoping to find someone willing to share DNA from the first family to try and prove one way or another whether Hannah was John Clifton's or John Larter's. Anyway, if you would like to try and meet some of the other Clifton's let me know.
