Your tombstone stands among the rest; Neglected and alone. The name and date are chiseled out On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years age
spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

I would like to pick up your photo request but Sparkman Hillcrest (SH) does not like to provide burial locations to volunteers, citing privacy issues. Your cooperation is needed in order for requests to be filled. The volunteers will need you to call SH and request the location. Their phone number is 214-363-5401. Once you have the location, please add it to your request. Thanks.

RE: Huggins Family
Thanks for all of the work you've found. We have a lot of this information on our ancestry site. What's interesting is that a lot of that land is now today a part of DFW airport. Unfortunately, none of my family benefited from that. The Captain Loftin Huggins you saw was on Thaddeus's death certificate and was written by my grandfather. We've been able to cross check though other sources that his father's name was actually Thaddeus C. Huggins. We believe that my grandfather was unsure of T.L.'s father's name and just wrote that in there. We have the death certificate of Sarah Goodman, the sister of T.L.. He was the one that wrote the information on the death certificate naming the father as Thaddeus and the mother as Kathrine Mckinnis. We checked and found no history of any Captain Loftin Huggins anywhere. There is, however, a lot of information on Thaddeus C. Huggins war record having served in the 8th Alabama Cavalry as a sergeant.

RE: Huggins Family
I'm not sure which John Huggins you are asking for. I can tell you that George Washington Huggins sons, John Marion Huggins and Arthur L Huggins are buried at the Spring Creek Cemetery in N.W. Arkansas. His daughters, Lillie Mae Boone and Georgia Ann Loomis are also buried there. His grandson Marion Leon Boone (Lillie's son and my father) is also buried there.

Marvin Huggins, John M's son lives in Harrison AR, I believe, and his daughter Sharlene, also lives in Arkansas.

I'm sorry I haven't answered promptly. I haven't been on here is a long time.

RE: Huggins Family
Wow, that is some great work! After I wrote you, my wife and I realized that T.L. Huggins and his older brother John are not the sons of Daniel. Their father's name was Thaddeus C. Huggins. We're guessing C for Columbus. He was married to Kathrine or Cathrine Mcinnis. We know he was from Georgia and he met her in Alabama. What happened to both of them is a mystery to us. We believe that T.L. Huggins was raised for a short time during the Civil War by her sister, Sarah Montgomery. Then he was raised by his older brother, John, in Texas. T.L.'s son, Lee would become my grandfather. As far as any relationship to Daniel, we haven't found anything, however, it is interesting that both John and Daniel are from Georgia.

RE: Huggins Family
Do you have any information on John Huggins much younger brother, Thaddeus. Thaddeus Loftin Huggins is my great grandfather.

John Huggins
Do you have anymore information about John Huggins or his father, Daniel Huggins? Daniel Huggins would be my 2nd Great Grandfather. Thanks

Claudia Rowell
Hi Ms Virginia,
I see we once again had the same great idea at the same time. Since I had already added Ms Claudia's memorial would it be possible to move your stone photo to my memorial. I will add any extra information to the bio for you. Ms Claudia was married to my 2nd cousin.
Have a very blessed and happy Easter.
