I've been researching my family line for over 17 years along with my cousin, whom is a professional genealogist. my Main Family Names I search for are: Tolbert, Adams, Flener, Fleenor, Echols, Burks,Palmer, Milam,Harper,Carnes.. My main research is polk county, floyd county, walker county, all surrounding counties in Georgia, many in Alabama as well, closer to the Ga/Al line. If I can help, please email me..|

I believe this surname with names is the line of one of Thomas Sansom's daughters who married into a Tolbert line. I am sure I have documented this but think Thomas Sansom (whose sister was Milner Echols' sister-in-law Nancy Sansom Echols) wife America Nunnally Sansom, intertwines with Tolberts and I am sure it is in my files...A bit of a memory blitz but think also a Patman
|Molly McLaughlin||Echols family|
My interest in the family is the Sansom side-my husband's maternal line.
1st generation WLM-LER
2nd generation TJM-MLW

5th generation Alexander Wallace-Artemissa Malone (md. 12 May 1830 Newton Co., Georgia
6th Generation-Daniel Malone 1778 Va.-1817/18 Georgia -his wife, Elizabeth Sansom, whose orphans drew land in 1820 land lottery of Georgia as orphans while living in Walton Co., Georgia where at that time Milner Echols, and Susannah Sansom Echols lived. Many documents of Sansom with his signature. Milner and wife in Wilkes Co., Georgia shortly after Revolutionary war. Robert Milner Echols their eldest son.
|Molly McLaughlin||Obediah Echols, md. Dismukes|
Thomas Sansom (son of James and Martha/Patsey Sansom of Greene Co., Georgia) who married America Nunnally (d/o John Nunnally and wife, Susannah Virginia "Sukey" Nunnally) had a daughter named America Sansom who md. a Dismukes? by memory his name was Columbus Dismukes.
|Molly McLaughlin||Robert M. Echols|
You state he is son of your # great-grandfather-so this would be Milner Echols, married Susannah Sansom. His brother, Absolem Echols md. Nancy Sansom (who was a daughter of James Sansom and wife, Martha (Patsey) Sansom). James, father of Nancy Sansom Echols, died in 1793 3 miles from Greensboro, Greene Co, Georgia leaving a large family. Do you know the parents of Milner's wife, Susannah. It is said in Milner's papers that his wife, Susannah was a cousin of "Peter Strozier's wife" whoever that is. Any research done on these lies? I know the Tolberts are actually related also to America Nunnally Sansom, who was a wife of Nancy Sansom Echols brother, Thomas Sansom, born about 1790 and youngest child of James and Patsey Sansom....
The middle name Dorrell comes from the group of Sansom's out of Louisa Co., Va. and the Judge William Sansom of Wilkes Co., Ga. who died there in 1818. He appeared to have been in Wilkes Co., Ga. at same time as James Sansom, who as a officer during the Revolution, rec'd a bounty land grant of 503 1/2 acres of land.
