Please feel free to contact me about any graves I have listed. If I have listed someone that you are related to and I am not and you would like them transferred to you, please just let me know. If we are both related then I will have to think about it. Please feel free to use any of my photo's anywhere you want.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
(rev 21:4)

"Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and the date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who cares
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you."
-Poem by Walter Butler Palmer

A LIMB HAS FALLEN

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we're together again.

Thank you for posting the death certificate for Miles B Herren. I cannot seem to determine the actual cemetery he is in so we can add to his memorial.
Another person was also kind enough to post his wife's (Lavina Boyd Herren) death certificate also which states Dye cemetery in Swords creek. Both are Swords Creek Virgina. Any help appreciated. Thanks again Barbara A in CA 47024710

RE: Fay and Edith Humphreys
I had the same problem. I have sent an email to the funeral home who conducted the services. Maybe they can answer that question

RE: Fay and Edith Humphreys
Thanks for your service. You couldn't find the grave because there wasn't a headstone until I recently installed it. The parents are buried in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon in the Terrace Lawn Memorial Park

Fay and Edith Humphreys
Records show you are the creator of memorial 82414166 (Fay Humphreys) and 82413764 (Edith Humphreys). These girls are my wife's aunts. Are you related to them? My wife is the daughter of Reva Alice Humphreys Anderson

Adding a child
Barbara,
Would you add my Grandmother, Susannah Whitt to the children of Hezekiah and Rachel Whitt. Her dates are 1796 - 1865. I don't have a clue at this time where she might be buried but I am working on it.

Thank you. Her husband was Joseph Webb.

Griffith/Sheridan and Hale families of Franklin County, VA
Barbara,

My self and two other descendants of the Griffith families of Franklin County would like to know what you know about the Griffith family and how we all connect. I descend from John C. Griffith and his wife, Martha Griffith. We have not found the parents of John C. Griffith (born 1808, Franklin County) but we know that Martha was the daughter of Daniel Griffith and Allie Sheridan.

Both of these Griffith families were in Franklin County but we have not been able to make the connection between them.

Would like to know how you connect.

RE: Loretta Foote
Hi Barbara,
I only know what I see on ancestry.com. This is a distant relative (3x great aunt's sister ) of a friend. I'm careful to use vital records, and not leap at the first person with that name, but I have no first hand knowledge.

Re: Adonijah & Loretta's kids - I have just found 2 more (George F, Carrie) and submitted edits for linking their graves. I also see Ida b 1881 on 1900 census, but no record of her after so no link yet.

Re: Adonijah & Eliza Carr kids - sumbitted links for Donald, and Melissa, and George. Don't you think it is odd that he had TWO kids named George Franklin Foote? The 1st one with Eliza born 1858 and the 2nd one w Loretta b 1874. At first I thought it was a typo, but the oldest one was born in NY and appears on the 1860 census and many references after. There is a quite a long bio of him on Find A Grave.

The 2nd one doesn't appear until 1900, when Loretta is a widow. But he really is a separate person, although his death cert says his mother is Loretta Torrey and father ANDREW Foote. That could be a nickname for the unwieldy Adonijah, or perhaps Loretta married another Foote?

RE: Garrison
Hi again Barbara.
I went back to classmates.com (where I found Cloteal's picture) but I couldn't find anymore of Cloteal or any other Garrisons.
