Mary M. Gaige Barnes
Hi Bev,
re: Mary M. Barnes #83620512, I contacted the Bedford Historical Society (nice people) as well as the present manager of Bedford Cemetery. I also revisited Bedford Cemetery last week. The name on Mary's headstone is definitely Gaige (Mary's mother's maiden name). The cemetery folks admitted that their records were misread "McCage" and added the correction in their current records.
Mary never married so Gaige is not her maiden name.
I'd really appreciate it if you would kindly remove the "McCage"on Mary's memorial and replace it with the correct Gaige name.
Thank you so much for helping with this as well as for all the work you've done for Find A Grave.

Michael McMahon 81875481
Hello - you recently asked that I add an obit for the above:

Name: McMahon, M.
Date: Oct. 18, 1861
Source: unknown, Reel #53
Notes: McMahon- In West Rockport on the 19th inst., of Consumption, M. McMahon aged 69 years. Mr. M. emigrated from the State of Connecticut in the year 1851, to Rockport Ohio, then a wilderness where he resided till his death, an industrious honest citizen. Eastern paper please copy.

However the above Michael McMahon died in 1914, so this 1861 obit would not be correct. Thank you.

Vesta Rittenhouse
Hi Bev,

You sent me a maiden name for Vesta. Your corrections are usually right on, so I'm sure this one is too, but just wondering where you found the name - I searched and searched and couldn't find anything.

Thanks!

The records for both Highland Park Cemetery and Potter's field are recorded together.
Any burial listed as 300 is potter's field.

Brushy Flat
WV death records often given a location and not the name of the actual cemetery. Brushy Flat, Renick, Williamsburg, etc are all ones I've seen for cemeteries which were actually New Ellis, Morningside, etc. My memorials show the name of the cemetery as used when I created the memorial.
