Barney Runnels grave
I am unable to read the date of birth for my relative, Barney Runnels. I am in the process of gathering supporting documents to join the DAR. Do you have the photograph you took? I wonder if I could enlarge it to read it better if you have the JPEG. I have wondered if there is a poem or Bible verse at the base.
I also would like to see the ledger page. Could it be a census page on this relative? That would be very helpful to my application.
Thank you for all that you have given on Barney. The story of how he may have gotten his name was so interesting. I am related to David Crockett. My relative married his brother.

Angeline Love
Hi Valarie,

I uploaded a new photo for Angeline. The headstone has been cleaned and is much easier to read. It is much better than the one I previously took.

It was good to see a photo of her on the memorial.

Oh! I actually wrote it down and forgot to include it. I just went back to the photo and added the inscription. Here is what is written:

A loved one has gone from our door.
On earth we will meet her no more.
She is gone to her home in heaven
And all her afflictions are o'er.

Thanks for sharing a bit of her story. It makes her even more real. Her headstone is really pretty...made of white marble. I am glad that I could take the pictures and share them with you.

I have since heard that the memorials were put out based on a list at a historical museum, so there may be no stones. Linda

I walked Tannehill Cemetery in Cowley County, KS today and looked for their stones. I didn't find any. Since Judy Mayfield put our their memorials and she usually does this based on photos she took, you might write her and ask if she has a photo to post or if she got their info from some other source. Of course, like all old cemeteries, there were stones I couldn't read and some broken ones and theirs may be one of those. Thanks, Linda

I submitted a picture of these two and the system stated I had fulfilled your photo request. I am not sure what photo you were requesting as I wasn't intenionally trying to fill one.

If you were wanting a headstone pic you may need to resubmit your request. Either way I hope you like this pic.
