20 Jul 2013 - Thanks to the Contributors who work hard to link families together or add other information to the memorials and are not here to just add to their numbers (adding duplicates upon duplicates of memorials and not having the courtesy to remove them once they're detected). I have made a virtual cemetery to note those duplicates which I have come across (and many times let the duplicate contributor know of the error).

09 Nov 2011 - Awesome job the Houston County (Texas) Historical Commission is doing! I appreciate their labor of love!

26 May 2011 - There are so many wonderful people on this site! Thanks to everyone who takes the time to put someone else first.

Oct 2009 - I've been interested in genealogy since I was a preteen because my maternal grandfather's mother died giving birth to him and his twin brother (stillborn) in 1924 and he was raised by his maternal grandparents (his grandma was only 32 years old and already had 8 children and had another 7 children after taking Grandpa in). Grandpa Sonny Staggs was my rock throughout his life - he died in July 2008. He taught me many lessons in life including that nothing in this world is given to you, if you're not willing to work hard for it!

Fast forward a few years I meet my husband (by selecting him out of a yearbook from another high school and a mutual friend introduces us) and come to find out we're related by marriage, so we share many kin folks.

I'm not here to play the numbers game. What is more important to me is that what I have is correct. I will try to help others without hurting anyone.

Please let me know if you have any additions or corrections to the memorials I have added. Also I'll be more than happy to link to other family members or transfer a memorial.

Take Care and God Bless!

Trey & Stevie
Hi Colette, I just wanted to say that I was raised in Springhill, La; I currently live in Sarepta. I knew both Trey Palmer and Stevie Lee when we were teens and in our 20's. I've always counted them as friends and thought highly of each man; I have many memories(some of which shouldn't be posted-after all we were rambunctious teens growing up in small town America LOL) Seriously they both were decent, respectful, and loyal friends, One common indicator of their true natures is their military service to our country. Thanks for memorializing them on this site. I too miss them.

RE: Dollie Huckaby Guin
Thank u so much for this! My daughter is probably the one making the inquiry, but Dollie Guin, in case she said/didn't say, is my dad's baby sister, dec'd since 1978 now; murdered. No particulars known. The law enforcement powers-that-be tried to pin her murder on - get ready for this, I'm not joking at all! - Henry Lee Lucas, can u believe that?! Have to leave right now, but would love to talk more about it.
