Hi Cyrus. I am also a Bearden descendant-1st cousin once removed from DaVon Bearden. I have not been here for a while since I posted some information a couple of years ago. Our brick wall is John Bearden, Daniel Boone Bearden's grandfather. For the last couple of years I have been involved in DNA research -not expertly, by any means. I have matched a lot of Bearden descendants. Some I can know who they are by the paper trail that Jennie Beaden Nau started, others not as close. I have found that I match some in Alabama, some in Georgia, and others in South Carolina. Sure would like to get past that brick wall! I will look at your website today, without fail.

Bearden Family
Hello cuz! I am also a Bearden. My line comes thru John William Bearden (1717-1797) and is my 4th GG. His son Ansel (1775-1850) is my 3rd GG. His son Arthur (1820-1899) is my 2nd GG and his son Christopher Columbus (1845-1917) is my GG and Columbus Allen (1880-1955)is my grandfather. I have been busy filling in the blanks on the brothers and sisters and spouses up the line. Right now I am working on Pappy (William Richard). His father Richard Daniel would be my 4th great-uncle and Pappy would be my 1st cousin 4x removed.

I have a first cousin in Alabama, who has been researching the Beardens for over 30 years. He is also the state SAR person. He has been instrumental in getting headstones placed on veteran Bearden graves.

Just wanted to say hello to another cousin & let you know where my line runs.

RE: Our Bearden Ancestors and new found Cousins!
Hi Cyrus,
I finally got the site to come up with the entire content!
My...this is the most information on one person
I have ever see and his descendants!!!!!!!

Iwill search to figure out how my line fromSouth Carolina
Might connect to the Beardens from Georgia.
At this point I do not know.
I know of two people that do have ancestors
From Georgia that I have come across in my
Searches though.
I have saved this site for future reference though.
My records stop about 1800 on my line.
I have previously seen bits and pieces of this
Site but had no idea there was such a lot of
Good information onWilliam "Pappy" Bearden!
Thanks again for passing that along.

RE: Our Bearden Ancestors and new found Cousins!
Hello Cyrus,
When I went to the site I was unable to see any Bearden info.
I am using an iPad but I do not think that has anything to do with the exclusion of info that apparently is contained
There. I will try it again though
Can you give me a little insight as to what I should see? I will look again and let you know what is coming up....
Da Von

Bearden ancestry
Thank you for your contributions to FindaGrave.
I am a Bearden. My line of ancestors came apparently
From South Carolina moved to Trigg, Christian County,
Kentucky and to Christian County Illinois...
In the Springfield, Illinois/taylorville, Illinois area.

Do you have any knowledge of how we may be related????
I have sent in my 85 years young's DNA to in hopes
Of figuring out the parents of my John Bearden Sr.'s
Parents and have lots of matches but there seems to be
Varying conclusions to the parents of my 4th GGrandfather.
I would like to connect to the other large Bearden families
Who are in Tn., Alabama, Texas etc...but finding the common
Branches is after 30 + years....coming up with no
Positive result. Perhaps a family of Bearden boys
Scattered to Ky, Alabama , La., and Texas????
Any Insight or ideas Would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, sincerely, Da Von Bearden

Memorial Day 2012
Went to Medline Cemetery 18 May 2012 and visited all the graves. Noticed this cemetery and church is well kept. Does Medline church plan anythin for Memorial Day or any other times of the year? I would love to attend any event. Also visited Smith and several other cemeteries.

found cemetery for Leonard
Hope all is well with you and yours...I found the cemetery where Leonard and his son Robert are buried. So now I have the dates of death. They are both at Rose Hill Cemetery in Texarkana, Bowie county. This web site is great....
Take care Nora Bearden

RE: Pappy Bearden
Hey, looks like Hardy and Leonard were brothers...I have been searching for a long time to find where we came from. Grandpa never would say. This has been a great week. I found my great aunts family(Elsie Bearden), have not heard back from them yet. But they may be away from the computer. Found a cousin(Phillip Bearden) I lost connection with and found more info on my paternal grand email is Would like to hear from you, trade notes.
