This is a fun and interesting hobby for me, as well as a great way to perform a meaningful community service to others. Someday I hope to have more free time to devote to it. |
In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, please read the Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer. I will make exceptions if I am doing photo requests for you. You do not need to "manage" every memorial that is part of your family tree. Remember that this site is for locating burials, not building a tree. There are other websites that are more suitable for that purpose. I will be happy to make any links and corrections. PLEASE use the SAC feature ("Edit" tab). Please do not ask me to do links to any "Burial Unknown". Do your homework, first. FIND A GRAVE ADMINISTRATORS SUPPORT THIS POLICY. Please feel free to add photos where appropriate, as you do not need to manage the memorial to add photos.
Please be kind to Photo Volunteers! We are out there in all kinds of weather in a variety of conditions to find your friend's/relative's graves. We are not after a Pulitzer Prize and sometimes even our best effort may produce a not-so-good photo. If any of my photos are not to your liking, please leave me a message and I will try to get a better one. I will not be offended.
I will no longer makes Edits (other than links and dates) for people who do not have their messages turned on. If I have questions, and have no way to contact you, I will not make the Edits. I do not use e-mail; please don't ask.
NOTE: All photos that I have posted on Find a Grave ARE photos that I have taken myself, or, in the case of a few portrait photos, I received permission to use them and it is so stated in the photo's caption. Photos that I've posted of cemetery gates, signs, statues, buildings, points of interest, mausoleums, etc. that have been added to a cemetery's profile page were ALL taken by me and were submitted to the Admins of this site for posting if they chose to do so. Family photos are all photos that are in my possession, taken by me or immediate family members who are no longer living.
Since March 2013 I have taken over management of approximately 25,000 memorials in Inglewood Park Cemetery from Chris Mills. Please continue to send suggestions for corrections using the "Edit" tab and I will get to them as soon as I can.

Cora was my great grandmother and Dee was her son. Go ahead and put up the headstone if I haven't already. I thought I did, but perhaps I did not. I will go in and add what I have for him.

BJ - Thanks for explaining the initials. No, there's no need to remove it. I just wanted to know if it meant something important that I'd like to know about! He's my cousin. I was glad to find his memorial today, and that of his wife whom I just linked to him today.
What's extra funny is that he is on my mom's side of the family and IPC is where many of my dad's family are buried. They lived in the LA area for many years and this was their preferred cemetery. Mom's family was from San Diego - so I'd never have guessed that I'd have found one of her family here. I wish I could tell my parents about it - but I"m sure my brother will get a kick out of it.
Thank you for all the work you do on Find A Grave - it's much appreciated by people like me.

Thank you so much. I deleted the duplicate.
Thanks so much for taking the time to look for these graves. Since there are no marker it is nice to have them listed in the cemetery and on Find A Grave. I really appreciate you doing this for me.

I met Harold on Ancestry. Laura Kincade is my Great Aunt also who lived with my Aunt Edna (cousins). I visited their home often when I was a child. If I have it correct, Laura Kincade had a brother who was Harold's grandfather.
I do not know why Laura has an unmarked grave but I will get in touch with one of my cousins and see if she has the answer as her mother was the one who handled all that stuff.

Thank you very much for the photographs.
I submitted a name change, since the spelling is different on the memorial than what is on the stone.

Thank you so much for the photo on Roberta Allred's memorial, 110796702 . I tried to select the correct cemetery from her memorial, but I ended up with a duplicate. Now I am stuck. I can't delete the old memorial or I would lose your photo. What to do? I love the story of how Find A Grave was instrumental in how I came by the photo of her. I would like to delete the new memorial. Any thoughts?

Thanks for taking the time to photograph the grave of Lotfali Samimi. I appreciate your effort.
