Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am now a ninety three year old mother, grandmother, gr-grandmother, and a gr-gr-grandmother. On my 80th birthday my grandkids were ask to share what they remember about grandma. Because I realized they didn't know much about their ancestors, I decided to write down what I remembered of the stories that were told to me as I was growing up. That lead me to contact the Sequoia Genealogical Society.

Volunteers taught me how to find more than 100 years of local family history from the Tulare City Libraries Genealogical Collection.

One volunteer, a retired school teacher taught me, fourth grade style, how to search the Internet on the computer. That year my daughter and grand children gave me a computer for Christmas, and I was off and flying and now I added Find a Grave to my activities.

I am now a self appointed family historian who has been doing research on my own extended family, and that of my friends,

Seen on another contributor's profile. I couldn't agree more.

We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.

I treat a memorial just like it were the actual cemetery, and I leave a flower or acknowledgment. When you visit one of my memorials please leave a flower. It is not necessary for you to say that you are a relation, but I appreciate it when you do.

Because of my age I would like to transfer some of my memorials. For many of them, I am not a direct descendant, and I prefer to transfer to direct descendants. There are a few occasions where I will make an exception. I will not make any transfers unless you leave a flower and a note.

Thank you!

Ms. Audrey DeCamp Hoffman,

I appreciate your help linking Chambers B Hemphill
to his wife AND for posting the photo clipping. If this
is a memorial you wish, regardless of relation, just
say the word.

James Dawson
Hello Audrey,

I approved the edit to add the Father of James Dawson.
I was wondering if you are a family member? I am asking for a personal reason it has nothing to do with Find a Grave. My Grandmother grew up with the children of James Dawson. I may have a photo if anyone is old enough to recognise them as children.

Christine and John McMahen, Hillsdale Cemetery
I just wanted you to know that I checked the Hillsdale Cemetery Index and the surname McMAHON was not listed for Christine and John. The spelling on their gravestones is MCMAHEN. They are in Section X, Lot 2456. I intend to visit Hillsdale Cemetery this week and will try to locate and photograph their gravestones for you. They are flat to the ground stones and not the upright ones that are easier to see. My success rate over the past 7+ years is around 98%. Also any photographs I post become yours. You own them. You will have copyright to them and can use them in any way you wish.

Ruth Capilouto
I don't think Ruth is buried at Green Hills. If you go to Green Hills' own website, they have all their burials online and if you do a search, the only Capilouto buried there is David. You can call them to confirm this if you want, but I do know they keep their burial listings current.

So I will be adding a photo only to David's memorial. You should delete your request for a photo for Ruth.

That will be fine.
Aunt Fern was married to my dad's brother Frank.

Fern was the sweetest person, always nice.

Thank you Kath,
