I am not accepting her place of death as Tulsa because I'm unable to find any proof to that affect. Her last residence from the S.S. Death Index is that but that doesn't mean she passed away there. If you have an obit I will gladly put it on her memorial. thanks!!!

I see you have added her to Find A Grave with no cemetery listed. I have her obituary and it lists that she is buried in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, PA.

Thank you for your help and for the newspaper page. I would like very much to have his memorial to work with, if you are sure you don't mind transferring it to me. Thank you Deb

I believe this to be Nels Knute Nelson Haugestuen nickname Ned. His dad was Knute Nilson Haugestuen and the Mom was Guri Olsdr and her American name was Julia, which is close to the information put up (Gertrude Julian). Their son Nels and daughter Sarah Mink lived Pierce, Washington. He was born December 1867 and would have been 49 when he died, I saw another memorial on findagrave for him, and it has a picture of the stone, but I think it just got the wrong birth year somehow put on the stone. Do you still have the paperwork to see if anything was hard to read, and maybe slightly different? I want to hook him to his mom and dad in Mower, Minnesota. Thank you

Yes, Middletown is in two or more counties, hence I can't add it to the findagrave page not knowing which county it is.
Photo obits are from microfilm at our local library. Anything prior to 1945 is transcribed from the collections at the Chester County Historical Society.
I sometimes have to look at the SS death index or a death certificate to find the death dates if they are not on findagrave. I have some cemetery records, so knowing when they were buried helps also.
Nope, nothing as easy as point and click on the web. Takes some effort. But I'm retired and like doing stuff like this. I also volunteer a lot of time at the Chester County Historical Society.... busier now than when I was working.

Obit added. His death month was originally listed as July, but I discovered it should have been August from the ss death index.

Obit added. If you can figure out which county Middletown, Ohio is in, let me know along with her Find A Grave id. (don't use the edit tab, I won't see it). I have access to these records to update.
