I have been doing genealogy research since 2001. I love the challenges and the excitement of knocking down those brick walls. I want to thank all of the findagrave.com volunteers who do such a great job with fulfilling the photo requests. It makes such a difference to have photos to go along with the memorials. |
In Dec 2012 I become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which has been a goal of mine for many years.
NOTE: Findagrave.com has strict rules about not copying other peoples photos as they are copyrighted material. With this in mind, I would appreciate it if you don't copy the photos I have posted without my permission. I have discovered some people have done this and then posted the photos to trees on ancestry.com without even bothering to source where the photos came from. This is discourteous at best. If you are going to copy photos without my permission, at least be honorable enough to say where you found them. The same goes for any other info you copy from my memorials such as bios and obituaries. Just say where you found the info so others can be guided to this site.
Some of my ancestor lines are: Turnidge, Decker, Peters, Berberich, Claymon, Eden, Classen, Wirth, Irwin, Pennington, Terrell, Crowley, Fletcher, Connell, Atkinson, Glover, Curd, Vorce, Clarke, Russell, Letman, Whitton, Nutting, Lea, Letman, Boyce, Baker, Douglas, Rhea, Perkins and Griffith.

I will pass the word along, but August isn't into the whole computer/internet thing. However, one of his brothers is into computers and family history, so I will attempt to make your offer known to him.
On an entirely different note, I have submitted several thousand edit requests and you are only the second person to ask for sources. Due diligence, I like it.
Your work on Find-A-Grave is very much appreciated.
Thank you, Steve

All three of William's sons are alive and one of them (August) is my next-door neighbor. He was my source.

I didn't realize I didn't put in the caption. It is posted now. The newspaper was the Watertown Daily Times, Apr 21,1915

Just click the map tab at the top of the cemetery page. It has its exact location

My daughter noticed our local PBS station had produced a short video clip about the life of Asa Bement and I thought you'd be interested. You can find it at http://wskg.org/history/bement-billings-farmstead-museum/?c=history
Take care ~ Nancy

Hi--thanks! Some people don't like the DCs, so always happy to hear from someone who likes them. Not sure where you live, but if you need any information here in Oregon, let me know. I live outside of Salem and go to the Archives all the time. Thanks again, Diana

Paste this URL in your browser to see Robert E Lee Gwinn's Texas Death Certificate
|Donna Spears||RE: Robert E Lee Gwinn|
My source for the edit requests is his Texas Death Certificate No. 49405 which lists his parents as William Harrison Gwinn and "Fannie".
Fannie was the nickname of Nancy Jane Glenn Gwinn. She and WHG are buried side by side in the Holliday Cemetery in Archer County, TX (adjacent to Wichita County). They and RELG all died in Wichita County.
In the 1900 and 1910 US Federal Census WHG, NGGG, and RELG are together as a family. Also relevant is the fact that RELG named one of his sons William Harrison.
WHG and NJGG are also the parents of Charley G Gwinn 110114264 who is buried in the Lisbon Cemetery in Dallas County where we serve as Trustees of the Lisbon Cemetery Association. Our goal is to link each person buried there to their families.
Thanks for your prompt response. If you have other questions, please contact us.

Hi, Nola is listed as Nola M on several records, and on her own Find A Grave page, she is listed as Nola May. Sorry for the delay!
