Mr. Owen,

Thank you for your courteous inquiry. I regret not recalling the origin of the image of Bradfute Warwick. I do not own it and thus can neither grant nor deny the use of it. Best wishes in your endeavor.

RE: Photograph of D. H. Hamilton
Much is welcome, it's nice to have people like you to keep our heritage and history alive. I figure the more way I can provided the photo the more longer it will stay alive. Oh and more about the original photo. The photo was in the Haskell County Courthouse, Haskell, Texas but was brought to Abilene, TX to Roberts Studio. The courthouse website is

Also if you need more details about Hamilton, there's the book he wrote, and I hope you get the pleasure of reading it, there very short supply of the book available, but there's an online, of the book located here;view=1up;seq=1

Also I just uploaded the flag that was flown by his brigade. It's a digital image, but I do have a reproduce flag here in my house if you want to use that image too of the flag.

I would like to thank you for asking. I came very closed to suing the Austin American Statement (Austin, Texas newspaper) for reproducing the photo without my permission and using the photo in a manner to degrade the family name when Rick Perry was running for president and the paper ran an article about the word "Nigger" was painted on the large rock that was on the family property.

RE: Photograph of D. H. Hamilton
Hello from the Dee/Hamilton Family. D.H. Hamilton was my grandmother uncle from my dad side of the family. I started over 3 threes ago in researching D.H. Hamilton and yes I own the rights to the reproduce photo of D.H. Hamilton that I found in the county courthouse in Abilene, Texas. The original is hanging in the court room #1 I think along with a letter from the other judges. The current judge let me take the very large portrait and had it reproduced at Roberts Studio in Abilene. He provided me prints and a CD file of this image. The file is in JPG format. You are more then welcome to uses the photo for the purpose of this book only and with the agreement that you promise with me. I would also like a copy of the book. Thanks!
