I am very actively pursuing family information. I maintain an Ancestry.com tree, and my brother and I have family photo sites on Smug Mug, where we display the photos we get from family members and kind souls who share on these programs in hopes of preserving and sharing them with all families who need them. It occurred to me when going through my mother and grandmother's huge trunks full of photos that it was sad for one family to have all those treasures and not share. And, so began my many, many hours of scanning and sharing photos and information.|
I also enjoy visiting other memorials and cemetaries and adding flowers, pictures or data to memorials that have no information, or very little. My husband and I walk through cemetaries quite often, and find the headstones so interesting. I love adding to the history of these people, and it grieves me to find one that says "unknown" on a headstone. Genealogy has become a true passion.
My lines are Duncan, Mather, Dodson, Smith, Moore, Bullion, Curtis, Whitehead, Barron, Reid, and you know how that goes - many more! I am happy to share information and photos with those seeking help, and so very much appreciate all that is shared with me.
I live in the Hill Country of Texas, am married, and enjoying retirement. I am a native Texan, and my Ancestors all go back many generations in Texas.
Please feel free to use my information and any photos I have posted. I do not understand the fuss about using someone's photos. If they are sacred and personal, then don't post them, is my philosophy. We are all here to help one another and share for this and future generations. So many photos get lost in fires, animals getting into boxes, etc., so why keep them private? After we are all gone, our grandchildren and gr-grandchildren will someday be searching for images and information, and if I took it with me, they would be left at a loss. There are so many members in my family who suffered fires, floods, tornados, and other losses. But, at one time they DID have a photo of "Great Uncle John", however, now due to some unforseen circumstance, it's lost forever..... Think about it.
God bless and and Happy Trails..

|Dudley Beaven||William Fletcher Barron|
There is a problem with his memorial. His obituary says he was born Dec. 27, 1838 and died June 4, 1904. It also says he died aged 59 years and 5 months which was on the tombstone. These 2 facts are inconsistent. Perhaps his birth date is wrong but I don't think so. I believe the 59 years and 5 months is in error. I do not believe he served in Company K 11th Mississippi Infantry. There was no officer named Danley (referred to in his obituary) in that unit. I am still researching this but there was a William Barron in Company B, 30th Texas Calvary which was one of the frontier regiments. It shows he enlisted in Hamilton County, Texas on July 19, 1862.

Thank you so much for the memorial to my father. I was not aware people did these. So kind of you. Do you just pick people at random or do you have some connection to my family. Again, thank you very much!
