|If I add marker or cemetery photos to a memorial or cemetery that already has a photo, it has nothing to do with you. Many times it's just a slightly larger photo of the marker, or a closeup, or a different angle. Or sometimes it's just because I have a lot of heart involved in a person's memorial. The main reason is that markers deteriorate so quickly sometimes that I want to preserve as much as possible while we can.|
I've been doing genealogy for over 20 years. I had never made a major focus on cemeteries or burials until the last 10 years or so. Now they are very important to me, since I've learned how much more they can tell us about family and history.
Like most of you probably, my family and friends attempt to hide my eyes or distract me when we pass a cemetery. I could probably find a burial related to me or someone I know in most cemeteries in the United States
Most of all I'm grateful to all the wonderful individuals who created and maintain "Find-A-Grave" to help preserve the memories and images of our world-wide family, as well as the other everyday people who contribute here!

Thank you for approving the edits I sent for Mary Jane "Jennie" Folsom Nelson. She is my step 2x GGma. She remarried, and there is another memorial for her with a photo in this cemetery, # 100050700. Your memorial, # 85922249, now has the correct information, and some links, but no photo. They were both created in 2012. I've sent edits to the other memorial as well. We need to get these merged somehow. I can ask findagrave, or since the other has the photo and pending edits (she remarried), would you remove this one? Either myself, or you, could send edits for parents/1st husband links. They were divorced. She apparently committed suicide after her 2nd husband died. Gas explosion, 3rd degree burns, just awful! Let me know, I'll gladly copy and paste the family links, if you'll remove this one. I'll take a screenshot of those numbers right now.

I just got a message from the person maintaining the memorial for Richard Satterlee. He has updated the memorial with the correct cemetery & plot. Thanks for helping us to identify this problem and hopefully get it corrected. Happy 4th of July! LR Jolley
|Kate O||Parsons girls|
Thank you so much for getting the pictures of the 3 girls stones. How sad for the family to lose their first 3 children within a year & a half.

|Nedra Feirtag||Bellevue Cemetery Photo|
You took a general cemetery photo of Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue, Michigan. One of my relatives is buried there. There were not photos on her memorial. I couldn't figure out how to move your photo from the cemetery main page so I downloaded it and added it that way. In the caption for the photo, I put that you took the photo, the date, and where I found it. However, on her memorial page it shows that I added the photo. If you are satisfied with how I credited you, great! If not, could you tell me how to transfer your photo directly to her memorial? The memorial is for Adelaide (Driver) Pickard # 147564257.
Thank you for all that you do. You make researching family so much easier. You are very much appreciated!

|Taylor Hawkins ||Info About Catherine Lazell|
I wanted to talk to you about Find A Grave Memorial# 91283096 (Catherine E Oxley Lazell). According to her death certificate photo posted in her memorial, her burial place is "Beallsville, Maryland" rather than the Delta Center Cemetery in Grand Ledge, MI hence the reason she has no marker at Delta. (If you look closely, it looks like Delta Center was once written on her death certificate but then removed & replaced by "Beallsville, MD".) Anyway, my real question is do you remember where you found the info posted in her memorial? It states that Catherine is buried with some of her husband's Lazell relatives. Is it possible it was intended for her to be buried there but then was instead taken to Maryland?
Here is the link to her memorial/burial in Maryland where she is with the rest of her family: https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=6808640
Thank you so much for your time & dedication to this site!
- Taylor Hawkins (great-great granddaughter of Katherine Lazell)
