John Peterson
Beverly, there's a problem with your memorial for John W. Peterson. Another one has already been created years before yours. However they don't know where the burial is-yours does and has a photo. Plus many 'flowers' left for him at the other one. These need to be combined. Can you get in touch with the other creator and accomplish this? John Peterson deserves this. Thanks.

Memorial Flower on Melinda Pittman Jordan Memorial
Hi Beverly,
When you entered info on a memorial flower for Melinda Pittman Jordan #25089200 you entered a date of 1950. I believe you meant 1850. You might want to take a look and verify the information. Thought you would like to check it out.

Jacob Harker
Thanks for all the information you've worked so hard to share. I see there is a son of Jacob and Catherine named Jacob on your post. However, down the list of children there is no mention of him. Do you know anything about him?

I sent you a copy of the compiled service records that I have on file for Otey, to your private email address.

RE: Thomas J. Prosser

I do not have any portraits of Otey. The only ones that I've seen associated with him are the portraits on his FindAGrave memorial page, but those portraits are almost certainly not Otey.... Instead, they appear to be portraits of the Marquis de Lafayette. (The regiment Otey served in did leave Valley Forge as part of Lafayette's Division in May/June of 1778.) One of those portraits can be found on the Wikipedia page for Lafayette as a depiction of the marquis (see,_Marquis_de_Lafayette).

Otey's service records suggest he never rose above the rank of private, so he wouldn't have worn the uniforms depicted in the portraits on the Find A Grave memorial page.

Hi Beverly.

The inscription on Thomas J Prosser's stone reads:

"Thomas J. Prosser
Born Feb. 14, 1869,
Died Aug. 28,1894.
Behold the pilgrim as he lies.
With glory in his view:
To heaven he lifts his longing eyes.
And bids the world adieu."

You and I are indeed related: Otey Prosser was my ggggg-grandfather. I am descended from him through son, Jesse (who appears to have been Otey's eldest). Nice to meet you!
