Bio and Links
Bio Photo **************************************************
I grew up in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and attended St. Thomas & IHM for 10 years.
I lived right behind St. Thomas church, leaving in 1967.
I currently live in Albany, OR.

Have added over 600 new St. Thomas memorials from the May 2012 "shoot". Also added about 700 marker pictures to existing memorials.
Many of the St. Thomas pictures I've added were supplied by Jim Makovec (of Idaho Jims used books) and also, many were supplied by Mike Ransom.
Thanks for the help shooting the cemetery guys!

Jim Makovec is the person that originally "inventoried" the cemetery in 1996, with his then, young daughter. He had to spend MANY hours walking the cemetery to make this list which Rob Minteer used.
http://files.usgwarchives.net/id/kootenai/cemeteries/

Mike Ransom runs the ihmacademy.com website and is/will be an invaluable source for local family genealogy.

Rob Minteer has transferred (6-15-2012) his 1500+ names into my care, so I'll be better able to link families together etc. THANKS for your work Rob!

Thanks to ALL 3 of these guys!

I've also had a few memorials transferred to me from Collen Turnbow English and Michael Young.
Thanks!

IF you have a better picture, please use it and I'll delete mine.

If you have corrections or links to family members, PLEASE submit them. I want to be as "complete" as I can.

Transfer requests for your family members are gladly given. (less for me to edit etc.)
HOWEVER- If I feel you just "collect" memorials and expend little effort to contribute to FAG, I'll probably deny a transfer.
I'm more than willing to add links or bios, so use the Edit Tab.

For my family members, please be more closely related, younger or more enthusiastic than me.

I don't want my pictures used for commercial use, such as ancestry.com etc. Without giving me credit!
I took them for free and don't want to see someone else profit from my work. IF they charge others to see them, please make it obvious THEY don't OWN them.

For non commercial use, feel free to use them. A picture credit to me would be appreciated, but not necessary.

In the case of my demise, please transfer all my memorials to-

RE: Declined Edits
Hello Bill,

While I agree that the first two links you have provided might be very good starting places, I would not consider them to be "reliable" sources. On the GR Cousins website, George himself pretty much states that.

"There will be typos, wrong dates, wrong link ups of marriages etc. as you all know what can happen. Most of the information here was found on the internet and I noticed obvious typos and errors typing it in but did not make corrections and I am sure I added a few typos myself."

I'm not going to transfer (possible erroneous) data from one website to another without some kind of solid validation. There are too many websites out there where people do just that. Online family trees are a HUGE example of this. Some people just copy other people’s errors (and entire family trees) without verifying any facts. I see this all the time. What’s the point of that? At the alarming rate you have been feeding me edits, it feels like I am doing exactly what I am all against.

I am more than willing to make ANY additions, corrections etc. that you send me, but please, please, please send me documents or links to documents that verify the suggested edit(s), otherwise I will decline the edit. I will not

I hope that this doesn’t enrage you. I myself, am NOT by any means infallible, but I do try to be as diligent as possible when I create and or make corrections to memorials. The people we are remembering here deserve that or as I stated above, what’s the point?

Very respectfully,
Ken Schumacher

St. Philip Neri edits
I approved all of your edits. It is wonderful that you are adding this information. I intend to go to that cemetery again soon and photograph the new graves from the past year.

My one thought is that none of these people came from Ukraine. That area was Russia in the 1700's and 1800's. It is now Ukraine but it was NOT then.
In my research I always put down Russia for this area unless it is after WWI.

Feists
The cemetery notes for the cemetery in Ukraine state that the burials there are assumed. In addition, without a year or date of death, the evidence for those burials is even sketchier. I don't link to burial unknowns because I've had other instances where someone adds a different burial unknown memorial, and I don't want to get in the middle of disputes over which memorials are the correct ones to link to.

Lol......I know! This is Julie.....I do most of the research & Jerry enjoys it:) We just returned from wintering in Lake Havasu City AZ.......our 1st time there.....not sure we'll return for more than a couple of weeks at most; we figured out we're not exactly fond of the desert! If there's ever anything we can do for you in our area (Eastern WA, etc), be sure to let us know! Julie
