BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN (via Alice Huitt Preston)

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For loved ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

I have a question or two abt. a photo you posted to her memorial and and is verifyied by WPA records and my own research. That photo is on my memorial. She IS buried in Colonial Cemetery in Savannah, Chatham Co., GA and that is where I have her. Now someone has her in another cemet. and used your photo, memorial #50213753. But that one says "IN MEMORY OF" so that leads me to believe that there is no burial.

I was questioning why someone copied your photo? Do you know this other person? A lot of folks copy the work of others and that is something I don't do.

Thanks for listening.

Hi David,
I am a Dobbs descendant of Balaam Dobbs. My line is Joseph Jasper (Malisa Tippin), William Perry (Mary E. Kemp), Charlie Walter (Effie Lee) and Charles William Dobbs (Frances Orgain.)
I was curious about the photograph that you posted of Joseph Jasper and Malisa. Do you know approximately when it was taken and who has the original? Also are there anymore of them around in the family?
I have a much later photograph with the two of them sitting on the porch of their (?) house. Thanks for any information you can provide.

You put a picture of a family sitting on the porch of a house. The picture has Edward & Son(?), Atlanta, GA & the number 16389 on it. Can you identify the people in the picture. Thanks for contributing the picture. It is a great one with all the features well defined.

I have sent you an invitation to my ancestry tree. Hopefully it will arrive. You can see both McCollum and Hendrix on it. I don't know how accurate some of the way back info is.

RE: picture
My great great grandmother is McCollum and my husband's family is Hendrix. I am wondering who you got the picture from. There is a question about one of the people in it. My mother in law said the person is a gg grandmother, and another said she is someone else.
