In association with the John More Association (JMA) genealogist, Juanita Goin, I started adding memorials for my deceased JMA cousins in April 2014. By 2020, there were too many to contain in a virtual cemetery! With the support of the John More Association Board of Directors, I now focus all my efforts to managing only John More Association memorials that I have created or have been transferred to my care.

The John More Association was founded in 1890 by the descendants of John More and Elizabeth "Betty" Taylor More to maintain the genealogical record of the family, promote communications between family members, further the interest of members of the family, and to maintain the John More Monument in Roxbury, New York and known burial places of all cousins.

John and Betty came to America from Rothiemurchus, Scotland (in the Highlands) in 1772. They spent that first winter in New York City and in the spring of 1773, relocated to near Harpersfield, Delaware County, New York where they would make their home. John More befriended Joseph Brant, a local Mohawk Indian; who, in June 1777, forewarned John of a party of Indians and Tories bent on destruction coming his way. John, Betty, and the children made a hasty departure and settled at Catskill for the duration of the Revolutionary War, in which John served in the New York militia. In 1786, John and his family returned to Delaware County and founded the village of Moresville which is now known as Grand Gorge.

John and Betty were the parents of eight children – John, Robert, Alexander, Jonas, Jean, James, David and Edward – and the John More Association represents the descendants of that family. Today, the family record contains over 17,000 cousins; 11,600 of whom are currently living. Notable More family cousins include Jay Gould, wealthy owner of the Pacific Union Railroad and the Western Union Telegraph Company; James Hadley Billington, who served as the 13th United States Librarian of Congress from 1987 to 2015, affiliated cousin, William Maxwell Gaines, publisher of MAD magazine; and, affiliated cousin Lina Romay, 1940s singer and actress.
