Retired Air Force and a former military brat.|
I started photographing headstones when I found my father’s memorial and no headstone photo.
I am currently in the process of photo documenting local cemeteries in the Johnson County area.
The following is a listing of the cemeteries I have photographed all visible headstones. I have not edited and added all of the photos taken as sometimes life can get in the way. I am trying to keep up with recent burials and add them as they become available.
Basin Knob Cemetery
Bluff Springs Cemetery
Catholic Cemetery (Knob Noster)
Cecil Memorial Cemetery
Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery
Fair Oak Cemetery
High Point Cemetery
Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery
Jacoby Chapel Cemetery
Knob Noster Cemetery
Marr – Greer Cemetery
Mount Calvary Cemetery
Mount Olive Cemetery
Mount Zion Cemetery – Post Oak Township
Mount Zion Cemetery – Dunksburg
New Liberty Cemetery
Rock Springs Cemetery
Saint John Catholic Cemetery
Wall Cemetery – Jefferson Township
Wesley Chapel Cemetery
Woods Chapel Cemetery
Please let me know if I have a family member and you like them transferred over to you. Also, please inform me if I need to make corrections or you have information you would like to see added to a memorial.

Hi, I'm not sure if you can correct this, but Frank Lewis Ezell #141162624 is connected to his mother Louise Malone #20946006 as her husband. There are no pics of the stone so I'm not sure if the memorial was really supposed to be for the husband and someone put the son's dates?

Thank you for your prompt response to edits for these families. Your dedication to documenting so many cemeteries is remarkable and will be appreciated for future researchers. Find A Grave is a great asset!
|Deborah Myers||James Allen Roberts #131550872|
Could you please add Jim's obituary to his memorial. He was a classmate of mine in Brookfield and at college. I would like for his life to be remembered.
James Allen "Jim" Roberts was born May 4, 1954, in St. Louis, the son of Jack Allen Roberts and Arline Johnson Roberts. He passed away at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility following a lingering illness at the age of 49 years, 5 months and 11 days.
James once stated that the happiest time of his life was his childhood spent in Odessa. Jim attended Brookfield High School where he graduated in 1972. He then attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville.
Jim worked in Chillicothe, then moved to Bolivar where prior to his illness he was an internal systems computer operator for a trucking firm in Springfield.
Jim was a member of the First Christian Church in Bolivar and a member of the Underwater Rescue Unit in Brookfield.
Jim enjoyed sitting in the boat on the lake, fishing, sitting on the porch in the morning drinking coffee with Gary, Diane and Scott, and watching CNN and Cops. He loved music and played the piano, organ and guitar. He also wrote poetry and composed music.
Jim is survived by two daughters, Lindsey Renee Degraffenreid and Kelsey Lyn Roberts, and a grandchild, Kaden Degraffenreid, all of Bolivar; his parents, Jack and Arline Roberts of Salina, Kan.; four sisters and their husbands, Gearl Dean and Sonny Bailey of Olympia, Wash., Joyce and Frank Mendoza of Phoenix, Ariz., Judith Catherine and Alan Wester of Dallas, Texas, and Charlene and Bill Griffin of Maple Valley, Wash.; a niece, Tracie Griffin of Moses Lake, Wash.; two nephews, Travis Griffin of Fair Wood, Wash., and Shaun Griffin of Maple Valley, Wash.; special friends Gary and Diane Merrill, Scott and Jeannie Carlton and family, all of Bolivar, and Judy Merrell of St. Louis; his best friend, Jake the dog; and many other friends and neighbors.
Jim was and is a true, loyal friend who was always there to help and listen. We will miss you, Jim. Fly with the angels.
Celebration of life services were Saturday, Oct. 18, in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mary Guy officiating and eulogy by G. Scott Carlton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Polk County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society in care of Butler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 11, Bolivar MO 65613.
Thank you for processing edits so quickly!

Also on the memorial for Fanny you say Inscription : wife of W.W. when her husband is M.M.
kinda konfusing. Thanks again for all you do on Find-A-Grave. Lily
Dear WLC, Thanks for the quick attention to the edits I have sent for my very distant Gladish relatives. I have a question, on the memorial for Fanny E.D. Gladish, you have the death date as 1905 but the gravestone says either 1903 or 1908, I couldn't quite make it out. Could you check? The memorial for Fanny is 103213046 I'm betting 1903. Triple Thanks, Lily P.S. Her husband, Mordecai had a very rough life if you know anyone who wants more info. they can ask me.

|Terisa Mott||James Archie Cash|
Hello, I don't know how you transfer his information to me, but he is my uncle and I have the family history for a big portion of our family and would like to be able to add information as time goes on.
