|I have been doing genealogy since I was in my twenties making it over thirty years.|
I am interested in finding my family roots and sometimes I have been sent on wild goose chases that have led me to distant relatives and/or other interesting non-related individuals.
I have researched for others and have added pictures of graves that I find interesting and then try to find out all I can about the people and write their story for the friends and ancestors to enjoy.
Researching is like putting a jigsaw puzzle back together. The missing piece or piece that doesn't quite fit makes life interesting.

What have you found out about the Edward Dunphy connection?

|Michaela McMahon-Dunphy||Edward J. Dunphy|
I see you added the photo of Edward J. Dunphy, buried in Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island. I am curious as to how you got this photo and what your relation is to Edward J. Dunphy? He is my grandfather and this is the only photo I have ever seen of him. I would like to know if you have any more information to share about him or any of his relatives. Thank you.

Thanks for adding the info about Elias Runyon in Samptown Cemetery. He is one of my ancestors. I noticed that you have a virtual cemetery for Revolutionary War Soldiers and thought you might like to know that he served in the Revolutionary War. If you have an Ancestry account, you can see the information that someone entered for the Sons of the American Revolution. Thank you again.

I believe that the burial location that you have for this couple is incorrect. I photographed several graves this week at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City, FL (also in Martin County same as Fernhill) and came across their graves. They are buried together and have the same date of birth and death so I am sure it is the same couple. I will post the pictures that you can verify the information.

You're so very welcome. It's my mission to photograph ALL of the service members and their spouses at BG Doyle, no small task. It's a privilege to "mark the spots where Valor proudly sleeps." Warm regards.

Good afternoon. I just wanted to drop you a note because I have been photographing BG Doyle Cemetery and found your father's marker today. I have posted it to his memorial, along with a plaque that honors Army veterans. The plaque is located in the ceremonial area of the cemetery. I'm sorry for your loss.
Like some of my McLaughlin's they also couldn't afford a headstone, I'm glad I could be of some help. Good luck in your research....JP

Hi, Gwen. There are indeed some Dunphy stones in St. Mary's of the Assumption Cemetery, but none that I can find for Thomas and Margaret. I've combed that cemetery three or four different times looking for those and other requested stones, and there are several that just don't seem to be there. I suspect those people might instead be buried in the much larger St. Mary's Cemetery on Bridge Road, North Elm Street and Hatfield Street in Northampton. Have you checked with the keepers of that cemetery?
|Susan Sweeney||Michael Dunphy|
My name is Sue Sweeney. I am a descendant of Annie Bishop's sister, Jane. I visited Michael Dunphy's grave last year. Annie and Jane, along with their mother, Mary Jane Brown Bishop, are buried together with Jane's husband, James Sweeney, in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn. Annie and Jane's father Robert Bishop is buried on Staten Island, not far from where I grew up I have a photo of the Michael Dunphy grave if you would like it.
I have a Margaret Dunphy (Brooklyn, NY), 1902-1963. Her parents John J Dunphy 1869-1942 (Brooklyn and buried in Farmingdale Long Island) and Magaret ?-1921. John J Dunphy parents are John Dunphy and Margart Walsh. Does that help? Does it match your family?
