Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in the history of my ancestors & my husband's ancestors for many years and have visited many of their graves over the years. I enjoy doing research on family members as well as others. It makes me realize how short life really is and how we should leave a positive footprint here. But most of all, how important it is to be prepared to pass from this life in a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

I also love my town of Kirksville, Missouri, and the County of Adair. I enjoy studying county and city history and the people who made the history. I feel privileged to be a member of the board called Friends of Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery in Kirksville, secretary/treasurer of Kirksville's Ownbey Cemetery Board and also, as of January 2015, President of the Adair County, Missouri, Historical Society.

Any photos that I have taken and post on this site are free to anyone. You have my permission to copy them for personal use or post to or any other ancestral sites you wish as long as it is out of respect for the person represented. I hope you find some of your relatives!

I am happy to make any additions or corrections to memorials; just use the Edit tab and I will make the changes as soon as possible.

Hi, Blytha - thanks for the photo of Ann Kirk on FAGrave! Pictures are always the Holy Grail of family history. Just wondering whether you have any idea who Ann's parents were - if you do know and would care to share the info, I'd be so grateful. I'm having no luck finding them. Again, many thanks for the picture. Best, Sarah Shankland Merlin

RE: Mary Sloan
My Mother would take us there (by the old shoe factory) as children in the early 60's and Mary had a stone at that time. As years went by it decayed prior to David's. At some point I would like to add my family tree to the Sloan's as I'm sure it would have made my Mother very happy. Nancy Miller was her Great Grandmother and she died in 1925 when my Mother was five. Thank you for your contributions to this site. Melinda

RE: Headstone Shadrach Edmonds
I do apologize. I realized that Shadrach's info was at the bottom of the gravestone AFTER I sent you the email. Thanks for replying to me and for posting the photo of the grave marker.
Do hope you have a Happy Christmas season.

Mary Sloan
This my grandmother of many generations and she is not buried @ Forrest Lewellyn. She is buried next to her husband David in Sloan Cemetery which is located off of osteopathy st in Kirksville on land that was once owned by them. Her daughter Nancy Miller is buried at Forrest Lewllyn. I can remember as a child being able to read both tombstones at the burial sight. Thanks Melinda

Headstone Shadrach Edmonds
Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery , Kirksville MO
the headstone for Shadrach Edmonds (1815-1887)
does not match his name or birth&death dates
nor does it match his wife's Rachael Russell
Edmonds (1817-1897) name or birth&date dates.

Can you please send me the correct photo and
correct this mistake on the website.

RE: Rev. Ezekiel Robinson Day Bennett
You are quite welcome. There are so very many unmarked graves in this section where he is buried, but it is still important to have his grave now identified. Thanks for your note! :)

Ha....I was thinking of the wrong Franklin. Either way the Franklin who is her Uncle was my cousin not my Great Grandfather's brother, probably actually his nephew or something. Anyway still stands that I am looking for any photo's or family info that can be passed along. Thanks.

RE: Franklin Fishback
Thanks for getting back to me! I know people aren't on here as often as some. lol I am a Fishback as well. Franklin was my Great Grandfather Henry's brother. I am just trying to find people who are related. Seeing if they have any pictures, or useful info, memories of the Fishbacks. All my family was passed by the time I was born.

When you took pictures of Joseph M.. Ivie and Alice Stewart, did you also take a picture of James Ivie next to them? Born and died the same year.
