Bio Photo "I love dead people. In fact, I come from a long line of dead people." --from the comic 'Empowered' by Adam Warren

PLEASE BE PATIENT. I HAVE BEEN BOTH BUSY AND DEALING WITH A CHRONIC ILLNESS AND HAVE BEEN SLOW ON REPLIES.

If I manage the memorial of a family member or friend of yours, I'll be pleased to transfer. It's so exciting to find things you are looking for! :)

It annoys me when people here treat memorials like their personal property - like memorials are trading cards to collect and hoard. ಠ_ಠ You know the ones! These memorials are the property of Find A Grave. We are just caretakers.

I am *always* happy to transfer, except when the person is my own relative (and no one is closer) or ones I have a special interest in. Even those I will pass on to a relative of any distance.

I have even transferred to non-relatives with a special interest in the deceased.

Some helpful resources:

Re: Erie St. Cemetery...I was told the following: "Unfortunately, a majority of the markers in Erie Street Cemetery are either not there, or are so weathered they are unreadable. Any grave that had a marker that was readable has already been uploaded to their respective memorial pages on Findagrave."

They are currently putting all records online. As of 9/15, the following cemeteries are done - All Saints (Northfield); All Souls (Chardon); Resurrection (Valley City); Holy Cross (Akron); Holy Cross (Brook Park); and St. Joseph (Avon). Work is ongoing on the following cemeteries: Calvary (Cleveland); and Calvary (Lorain).

PHOTO NOTE: I did not take the photos of Brooklyn Hts Cemetery in Cleveland. They were ALL originally transcribed and photographed by a very nice lady, Susanna Pretzer. She was completing a project to earn the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.
I checked with her, and have permission to post her photos and add the names. She said, "I definitely didn't know how physically and organizationally demanding it would be when I started, but that made it all the more satisfying...The idea was to get the information to the people who want it, so go for it. If it'll reach interested people who might not find it where it is currently online or in hard copy at the Western Reserve Historical Society, then it's good." --Thanks, Susanna!

Another note on PHOTOS: I give my permission to copy any photos I have taken for your own use or for another site. There are only a few -of thousands- that I have posted which I did not take personally. Just ask, please, so I make sure you are taking something I shot.

You did a "fantastic" job -and found a photo too! I admire all the values she cared about! I spent years of my childhood in an Episcpal orphanage in Painesville, Ohio cared for by nuns. I'm captivated by storied about people's lives!

Thanks again. I am not doing well physically -and really don't need credit for her memorial (I'm not related). Could you edit her biography to "Find A Grave" standards? You've done plenty of work and you certainly should get the credit. Sincerely, MK

Yes, I have two famous memorials I put in. The biography would just have to be tightened up to fit find a grave's standards. They are very specific about how famous memorials are written. I'd be happy to tidy it up for you!
But at that point I would want to have you make a duplicate memorial and then I could delete mine after you transfer everything over. That way, if find a grave marks her as famous, it will show your name and it will be credited on your page.

Hi my friend. Yes, I think she definitely was famous. Do you know how to get her memorial designated as "famous"? Bless you -for all your good research!

You asked: Do you think maybe we should propose for her to be labeled famous?

Woodland-Man Unknown
Hi There, Hope you are doing well. I finally entered what I think you wanted me to enter on #115331649, you can check and make sure I did it right. Leave it to you to find "weird" things, LOL, it is a very mysterious article, and the man was given the "Royal" burial!! You are so good at finding things, and then thinking to put it on this guy. Keep up the great detective work. Thanks!!! Woodland has some "weird" things going on. LOL !!

Thutmose II of Egypt
I want to have some people visit Thutmose II's memorial in the "Valley of the Kings cemetery" and vote on "How famous was this person?" His memorial # is 180230260. Thank You.

I just read the below you wrote and boy if that isn't the truth.

It annoys me when people here treat memorials like their personal property - like memorials are trading cards to collect and hoard. ಠ_ಠ You know the ones! These memorials are the property of Find A Grave. We are just caretakers.

I had some nasty people write me when I put something on their Find A Grave memorial. So I just made own as I found you can have more then one memorial. It did depress me very much that some people could be so nasty.

Keep up the good work. I wish Find A Grave would advertise as not many people know about it unless you are on Ancestry which I also do.
