Thanks for pointing out the dupe. I've sent in a request to have the dupe merged into the original. The birth and death dates came from the abstract of his obituary in Felty's "Legacy of Kin" books. The birth date is listed as Sep. 18, 1872. I've changed the birth date to reflect the birth year on the gravestone. The 1900 census actually lists his birth as Sept. 1870. So, it is a bit confusing.

Hi. Just wanted to let you know I added her headstone photo to her memorial and to your uncle's. Your uncle's headstone shows the dates of birth and death if you wish to add them.

The "bad" photo was deleted. That was the first one I found and it was "bad" after Photoshop! :)
Please give me credit for what I wrote. Thank you.
She has a marker in Ohio too Find A Grave Memorial# 75281973. It has "Of Pioneer Stock who have their bodies over the whole country." That led me to believe that she is "resting" in two graves.
On her husband and son's memorial in TX, it states that they are buried in Ohio, there are grave markers there too. I asked Find A Grave to mark those two memorials as Cenotaph.
|Burl Richardson||RE: Uncle William|
Accirding to my records, James Richardson, the father of William Jefferson and several of his siblings including my great grandfather Moses who was born in GA in 1828. JamesR moved to Monticello, Jefferson Co FL and is listed in the 1830 FL census. James was born to Moses Pierson R of Barnwell, SC in 1790 and died in FL in 1849. Moses died in 1910 and is burried in the Emmaus Cemetary in Rusk County, TX. with his wife Susan Turnbow R. and his son John Franklin R. My father knew Moses and told me several stories that he heard from Moses. If you have any history of William, I'd like to hear it to compare with what I know.
|Eileen M.||Daniel Heard|
I was recently in Middle Creek Cemetery and have a photo of a military monument for a D. M. Heard. Is this for Daniel. It is next to the bigger monument. I put it on his memorial. If I have this wrong, I will gladly remove it.
|Burl Richardson||Uncle William|
Have you ever heard that William Jefferson Richardson, son of James Richardson and born in Monticello, Jefferson, FL in 1832 had a brother named Moses who was born in Thomas Co., GA in 1828? James was listed as head of household in the 1830 census but no names of children were listed, only their ages. Both Moses and William moved to west TX in about 1868. Moses wife,
Susan Turnbow was afraid of the Indians so Moses and Susan then moved to Cherokee county, TX.
I have not found Moses' record of birth but his name appears in the 1850 census of Barbour Co AL as 21 years old. William was 17 at the time according to FL census and these ages tie in very well with the 1830 Census. James R. was born in 1890 in Barnwell SC and his wife was born in SC
Please let me know if you have ever heard or not heard of Moses. Thanks
