We have a large family that are all grown and have children of their own now. Many of our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren live near us so we truly enjoy our close relationship with our family. |
We work at the Family History Center each week helping others find their ancestors and are very much involved with genealogical research on our own lines as well.
I appreciate findagrave...........what a wonderful site.

|P.Brewer||Duplicate memorials - Duryee|
I have just requested deletion of my #35281098 - Francis A. Duryee in Poplar Hill cemetery even though it was posted before your #57168418. Yours had all the family linkage and the photos were very similar. I felt this would be the easiest way to eliminate the duplication. This is my husbands great grandmother. Are you related through Cynthia Johnson? That is the onlly Johnson that shows in our Duryee/Duryea genealogy.
Just curious. Pat

|Lori Stevens Nielsen||RE: Della Gurney date of death|
I attached a picture of her death certificate on her memorial #90502. There had been a duplicate listing which is being deleted. I also updated not only her death date, but also other key information. Let me know if you need any other assistance.
Couple of questions on your family.
Allen - How did you place him in Homer if 1830 census has him in Cincinnatus? They are on opposite sides of county. Carpenter family here came from Pomfret, Ct
Betsy - Should her last name be Carpenter? It was her name at Death.
Glenwood cemetery did not open until 1860's. All earlier burials that are now here were moved from cemetery that was behind churches. There is a small group of stones that were not moved by family and village placed them in upper corner of Glenwood. This section has its own place on Find A Grave under "Homer Burial Site"
Have you contacted Cortland County Historical Society for information? They have a research library. Their organization did a reading of all existing stones in the 1940's.

I'll call you within the next few days. Been a bit hectic here and I don't want any interruptions while we're chatting. Thanks for getting in touch.
|Barbara Sherriff Hahn||Peter Browne|
Do you know of Olive Sherriff Snyder? She was very active in genealogy and research, she put together our family history and traced us back to Peter and the Adams presidents, and John Brown too.
