John Dougherty Memorial# 75568823
Hi Marianne,

I have one other sibling to add to John Dougherty -- his sister Mary, who married my cousin, William Purdy, at the Dungiven Church of Ireland on 7 Aug 1879. The marriage certificate shows they were from the townland of Gortgarn, Dungiven parish, and that Mary was the daughter of John Dougherty. Mary and her children came over on the ship Furnessia (to NY) on 3 Dec 1902. The manifest shows her brother John Dougherty, 2664 Martha St., Philadelphia, was her sponsor. I've confirmed that this was the address for John and Jane in the 1900 census.

Would enjoy hearing from you to discuss this family further.

I've popped them under your management, I'm sure you'd like to link other family members or update their bio. Hope you're enjoying Easter, =)

RE: Murdoch/Dougherty
Hi Marianne, not that I know, I have a distant Murdoch/Johns branch & during my research on them here in Australia I came across other names that I thought I'd pop onto F.A.G. from the Bendigo Cemetery records & our National Library of Australia ( =)

Marianne, those messages marked Anonymous are from me K DAIUTOLO. I guess I didn't send it properly and you wouldn't know it was me. Write to me anytime. Renee didn't realized that Annie Cassidy had the 9 children. I don't know if the other marriages were valid or just relationships. I haven't been able to locate a death certificate for Michael J Troy in the Pa records. Take Care

Hi MariAnne, I left the previous message on Find A Grave before. My E mail address is in case you want to write to me. Renee is someone who is helping a second cousin of mine. My grandmother was Annie Cassidy. My name is Kathy DAIUTOLO. and I have been working on this family for the last 2 years. I see that you have a large grave in Old Cathedral Cemetery. You recently put a stone on the grave and it is beautiful. I hope to hear from you again . Kathy D.

Holy Cross and Sts. Peter & Paul Cemeteries
Please call the cemetery office and ask for the grave location. Photo requests cannot be fulfilled without Section, Range/Row and Lot numbers as cemetery is too big. Thank you!

Ann Scott
Thank you for the quick reply and the information on Alice and her sister ( your grandmother) and brother in law. I gather from what you are saying that Ann is not in your direct line and you may not be doing extensive research on that side of the family. Please let me know if you are interested in sharing any information you might have. I am really just seriously getting into this. You may also contact me at my email address. Again thank you.
