Bio Photo Married father of four, retired after 32 1/2 years with the Federal Government. (8 1/2 years US Navy, Submarine Service and 24 years civil service) Living in Cherokee Iowa.

Feel free to use any tombstone photo I take. If I fulfilled a request for a photo, then I consider it the property of the person who requested it.

To request transfer of a memorial please use the edit function and be sure to list your number to insure it gets to the right person. My primary interest is in photography and many of the memorials I manage were created from photos of tombstones I've taken. As a result, I'm not at all adverse to transferring memorials of non-family members to members of their families, even outside the requirements of find a grave's family first policy. If I get multiple requests or if it is memorial that is a member of my family it will be handled strictly based on who's more closely related.

Genealogical research:

My family: Harris, Dodson, Van Patten/Vanpatten, Van Devender, Oryall/Ariail, Denny/Denney, Collingsworth, Porter, Tatro/Tetreault

My wife's family: Leeds, Hiland, Arrasmith, Stanford, Wesphal, Jones, Worden, Wilson, Laabs

RE: Matzdorff and Grashoff
Hi, Glenn,

Thank you for being such an excellent steward of the Matzdorff/Grashoff/Allen clans. I will indeed let you know if I happen upon more of your memorials that can be brought into the family fold. I think that we have all of them gathered in this cemetery, but they are scattered throughout Cherokee, Clay, and BV counties.

I appreciate knowing that their memorials have been in your conscientious hands. Thank you so much for having memorialized them. This cemetery, as a result of your and Bonecollector's memorials, is where I first got hooked on FindaGrave. :) Thank you! Your kindness will not be forgotten.

No thanks. I have way too many family on FindaGrave to tackle someone that distantly related. Just thought you'd like to know. It's not clear from reading the stone what the relationship is.

Thanks for you speedy response.

RE: Mary Ann Van Buskirk
I had a duplicate in there, too. It seems it came largely from the fact that there are nearly identical Van Buskirk stones in opposite corners of the cemetery. It's easy to see in the cemetery. In online photos, not so much. In addition to that, the space in Van Buskirk vs no space is a field day for errors. We are promised that the new code will eliminate that search issue, and I can only hope that promise is fulfilled. I *think* the VB's are squared away now, but will keep a lookout to make sure everyone falls in place.

I've finished walking the cemetery now. There are quite a few new entries, so if you're missing someone, now is a good time to go searching for them there.

Thanks so much for this, and for all you do! It's always a pleasure to see your name come up when I'm working on a family because I know you will help however you can to see that the family's story is told with respect.

Warm egards,

Hi, Glenn,

With your above granted permission, I wanted to let you know that I very much appreciate the ability to use your memorial photo to clear up misconceptions about his dates of birth, death, and as a bonus, his military service, on my public Ancestry tree.

Thanks so much!

RE: Emma Walgren
I was married to Stanley Harris and divorced many years ago. She was a dear sweet, hard-working mother-in-law who I loved a lot. My ex-husband, Stan, passed away a few days ago. My sons are David Harris of Fort Dodge and Orin Harris of Phoenix. I knew several of Stan's cousins who lived in the Fort Dodge area, went to a few Harris reunions many years ago. Thanks for the transfer, I want to add some details to her bio.
