Please feel free to request a transfer if you are related to someone whose memorial page I manage. I am happy to transfer management of all except those of my direct ancestors. |
Please just let me know if you want me to delete a memorial page that I have created for your family member or close relative. I'll delete it as quickly as possible.
I'll be glad to correct errors, link family members, and add some information - unless I am commanded to do it and deliberately insulted. Thankfully, most contributors that I've dealt with have been nice and some very helpful.
PLEASE NOTE: I NEVER INCLUDE NAMES OF SURVIVING FAMILY MEMBERS. Everyone who posts recent obits should be aware of this: some fraudsters and con artists use recent newspaper obituaries to scam survivors, especially recent widows.
In regard to Find A Grave Friends listed here, most of them have posted photos in memorials that I have created and still manage; some have been generous enough to transfer management of memorials to me; others have been fantastic about editing memorials; and a few are relatives who have assisted me with genealogical research.

|yarris||Peggy Lynn Johnson - Memorial 113117134|
I apologize it's taken so long to respond to your message about my duplicate to your memorial 113117134. Peggy is a relative. I respectfully request that you accept the edits I've made to your memorial so it's complete. Alternatively, you could transfer the memorial to me and I can make the edits myself. Thanks for your consideration.

Thank you so much!
|Maureen Davis||And Truman Forsythe too!! :)|
Thank you so much JKW!!
|Maureen Davis||Mary Jane Forsythe (nee Davis)|
Oh my! I now see that you have also transferred the memorial for our 3X Great Aunt Mary Jane Davis Forsythe to me! I really was excited to find this memorial, and see her headstone. You have really made my day. Mary Jane is the youngest sister to our 2X Great Grandpa Mayberry Davis, who emigrated to Colusa County, California in the 1840's.
Again, thank you for the transfers!
|Maureen Davis||Alvira Forsythe Davin|
Thank you for transferring the memorial for Alvira Forsythe Davin to me for her care. Alvira is the daughter of our 3X Great Aunt Mary Jane Davis Forsythe ... youngest sister to our 2X Great-Grandpa Mayberry Davis.
I had only recently located this memorial, so imagine how tickled I am to have it transferred to me ... without even asking.
Thank you so much for this, and good luck with all your genealogy researching!

Thank you so much! No worries on the removal of flowers. Leatha is my elder sister. I'll have to see if I can link our grandparents to it :)
Thank you so much for creating the memorial for her.

Fascinating! I've often thought about the possibility of ancestors, from different sides of the tree, but that lived in the same state or area, meeting, marrying, and producing offspring. You are the first person I've ever heard that actually found proof of such an event. Do you have any idea of how far regular folks, not the Royals or families like the Medici, can trace their ancestry? Maybe to the Renaissance? Would it be impossible to go further back than about the 13th century? This is not a burning question so just answer when you have a minute. --pam

Sorry it took me so long to answer. Life gets in the way!
Oh yes, I see where our lineage intersects! Not too very far back. Iíve been interested to see how many relatives actually fought (and, like your great-great grandfatherís brother, Joshua, died.) Do you think any other brothers died in the War?
It is overwhelming to see how many relatives everyone has. Thankfully, population growth in the U.S. seems to have slowed some but the world is quickly approaching overpopulation. With so many people it isnít hard to realize that we are all, if not ďbrothersĒ, at least cousins!
Thanks for the offer of taking Newtonís memorial over. It is one I must decline. Iím still too sporadic in my ancestor tracking and not sure enough in my understanding of genealogy in general. With some practice I might be able to handle the tech part of it.
Possibly I will develop enough confidence and knowledge to handle it a few years down the road. Iíll keep it in the back of my mind for review every so often.
How glorious it is that spring has come once again! Hope yours is sunny and fun.
Thank you for your quick response! I opened it around 11pm so I'll have to spend some time on digesting it in the morning!
Elizabeth Mary Hammer is also my 3rd great-grandmother and I have been in close contact with my maternal grandmother's granddaughter who also has the same relationship to her!
Below I have pasted some information I received from ancestry.com -- in the DNA section of their site. It is a little synopsis of my direct DNA path (so they say) to Lizzie... reads from the bottom up:
Elizabeth Mary Hammer (1795 - 1888)
Joshua Davis Nelson (1831 - 1863)
son of Elizabeth Mary Hammer
Newton J. Nelson (1860 - 1935)
son of Joshua Davis Nelson
Ollie "Olive" Nelson (1892 - 1985)
daughter of Newton J. Nelson
Edythe Eleanor Wilson (1922 - 2004)
daughter of Ollie "Olive" Nelson
Pamela Jean Sparks
You are the daughter of Edythe Eleanor Wilson
I can't think why this would be of help to you, just thought it might be of interest.

Thank you for being a good friend to all of us that you do not know! The volunteers at Find-A-Grave must all be wonderful folks.
I landed on the page of a distant relative named John Rankin Nelson. Under his "Death" information but before his "Family links" (which shows one parent as Elizabeth Nelson) the information below appears...
"Father: William Hogan Nelson I (son of John Nelson and Bathsheba [Hogan] Nelson)
Mother: Mary Elizabeth Hammer"
I haven't seen an entry quite like this and I don't understand exactly what it means. It may, however, have something to do with the memorial note you left which says, "My 2nd great grand uncle and second husband of my 3rd great grandmother
I find ALL genealogy confusing so I work on it for a little while, stay away for quite awhile, then go back to it. Can you clarify this one for me?
