I am a Roman Catholic priest currently serving as the pastor of the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville, Tennessee. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, attended Notre Dame High School there, graduated from St. Meinrad Seminary College in St. Meinrad, IN, in 1977. I started graduate studies in Rome, Italy at the Gregorianum University and completed studies at the Catholic University of America. I received my Doctor of Ministry in Homiletics for the Aquinas Insititute of Theology on the Campus of St. Louis University in 2011. I have been "digging up relatives" since 1973.

Calvary - John Joseph Boyd Jr vs Sr

I recently filled some photo requests at Calvary, and noticed a photo of yours inadvertently ended up on the incorrect memorial. An image for John Boyd Jr is on John Boyd Sr's Memorial.

If you would kindly remove it, then the information won't be mis-matched.

Thank You,

John Boyd Sr Memorial (with Jr's headstone):

Connor Family
Rev. Steiner, I made the additions to the Connor family that you provided. Do you know if Katie Burke Connor's proper name was spelled Catherine or Katherine?

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 125253193
I asked earlier if you would be willing to take all my memorials in Calvary, as I have moved out of state and would like them in the hands of someone who can better care for them than I. If you'd like me to stop transferring them, please let me know.

Reverend Steiner,
I am not Catholic. In fact my father, born as Irish Roman Catholic as they come, lost his faith in a WII foxhole and brought my sister and I up atheist/agnostic. Nevertheless I have struggled across the course of my life to reach an appreciation of Catholicism. On behalf of the large chunk of my family stretch across the old Louisville-Nashville Railroad line who are Catholic, I want to say thank you for your efforts at recording their names and relationships here. Funny - I can not keep from thinking of the smell of wax, limestone, wood and old books just now. There are many Torpeys in Louisville, all my family, and many in Tennessee...most I think related to me.

Hope this Spring finds you in good health and humor,
Heidi Draffin (nee Torpey)

I recall that there was at Fr. Steiner at the Cathedral, I believe, in the 1960s. Is he a brother or Uncle?

Father, are you related to the Fraziers in Nashville?

I see that you attended St. Louis University, I received my AB and MBA there and a good friend there had left the seminary at St. Minraid (John Allen about 1970). My son is in the Seminary at Catholic U (ST. John Paul II seminary). You and I seem to have a lot of connections. In 1965, I said hello to Archbishop Sheen at the Cathedral while I was a senior at Father Ryan.

Good to connect with you Father.
