Bio and Links
Bio Photo This packrat has learned that what the next generation will value most is not what we owned, but the evidence of who we were and the tales of how we loved. In the end, it's the family stories that are worth the storage.
-Ellen Goodman, The Boston Globe

All relationships take effort, but it is a labor of love. I was blessed to be born to a large family that values relationships. In trying to keep track of our ever-expanding family, I developed a love of family and history. The research part is growing on me ...

RE: Surname
The death certificate for Jacob Gibson Walton lists his mother's maiden name as Jenkins. This is where the information originated.

RE: Surname
I have been working on that line over the holidays. I am not sure about the last name of Jenkins. I have been trying to find a link through my Ancestry DNA, but no luck yet. Cassandra is one of my brick walls also. Please let me know if you find anything.

Thanks for sharing! I grew up hearing about our Foster cousins in Arkansas, and had the opportunity to visit a cousin serving in the military in WA several years ago.

I'm thinking I was that cousin you met. I was stationed in WA in the military. We met a your grandmother's house.

Ms. Spencer,

I am trying to connect Hauge family together. I see you created a record for "Catherine Lorenza "Kay" Hauge Braunschweig"

Can you tell me where the information in her bio was derived or where I can find additional documentation.

Specifically: The information, "Kay's paternal grandparents, Joe Larsen Hauge and Laurentse Larsdatter Lund were born in Rogaland County, Norway." I would like to locate the church records in Norway if I can determine a bit more info.

My mother's maiden name is Hauge. Family moved from Iowa to MN around 1900's.

RE: Tilfredshet Kirke in Norway
Looks like you had a visit to the cemetery. Do you have relatives buried there?

Picture of Samuel Holmes Calvert

I just noticed that a photo of S.H. Calvert was added to his memorial page. Thank you for adding a photo of him, I may even have one myself, I will definitely have to look. If you don't mind me asking, how did you come in possession of this photo? I'm just curious if we may be related somewhere down the family lineage or if he was a family friend..etc. If you could email me that would be great (

Samuel Holmes is my Great-Grandfather's Brother and I have lots of photos from the Calvert Family, but none are labeled and unfortunately I have not been able to locate any records/papers that living family members might have saved throughout the years.

I look forward to hearing from you!

John F Elliott
Hello, John Ellioy is my 2nd Great Grandfather. From what I read on your page you are related to him. I think we could help each other out in researching. My grand mother was Clementine Elliott daughter of Frank Elliott who is one of Jon's sons.

Anyway, I was hoping to get in touch with you. You can email me at

I hope you don't mind that I transferred Anna also. I feel families should stay together. Judith

Kathy Braunschweig
Hi K. Spencer;

I have made the correction you requested, and I apologize for the error. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
Since you are a member, and a close relative, would like me to transfer Kathy's memorial to you?

Best Regards,
