Each and every life is worth living, loving and remembering.|
My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, negligent cattlemen, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history.

I'm not a numbers addict or collector, but I adhere to Findagrave policy:
◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.
◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.
◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.
Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.
If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?
On the other hand, if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer. I will always transfer a memorial if you sponsor it.
I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

Brusse Kotts' memorial on Findagrave does not list his birth or death information. His memorial is # 171733597. His death notice in the Vancouver Columbian newspaper stated he died 4 February 2015 in Vancouver and that he was 100 years old. This is the link: http://www.columbian.com/news/2015/feb/08/02-08-death-notices/
I know he was born 4 July, and that would make his birth year 1914. Census records listed his birth place as North Dakota.
Brusse and his family lived next door to mine in Portland when I was growing up. I was best friends with his daughter Kim. I hope you can update his memorial with that information. He married Ruth Mildred Cuthbert (memorial # 132400347) on 21 August 1937 in Marion County, Oregon (Oregon Marriages Index on Ancestry.com).

First - thank you for all the work you have done here! It is an amazing tool for any genealogist. I am looking at a grave which I believe might be a relative and see a note that says: Note: 11 yr. 6 mo. 27 days. Can you tell me what this refers to?
The person is Jacob Sharps Shipman at Saint James Lutheran Cemetery.

|Remember Us||Willard Weimer|
Hello. You had claimed a photo request for me on Willard a week ago, however, after his sons funeral we (his fam) spoke about his memorial on here, and I found out he is no longer buried in Oregon. His Granddaughter and I sent you a transfer request, however, did not hear back, thus we have created a new memorial that we will manage, with the correct burial information, as guidelines allow. Thank you for your time and we appreciated your willingness to help us out. Have a great weekend.

Hi Carrie & Allen.. I was wondering if perhaps you may have come across a grave marker for one Josephine Rusling Fulmer ( b)1868 & d) aft. Feb 1942) while you were photographing the marker for her son, Raymond Stover Fulmer, memorial #16896938? There isn't any memorial for her at the Durham cemetery, but her husband, Rev. Llewllyn Stover Fulmer is also buried there and I was hoping that you might have also snapped a photo of her stone as well.
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.
