Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm retired. I've been doing genealogy since about 1991. Like many genealogists I enjoy walking through old cemeteries and wondering about the lives of those who are laid to rest below my feet.

Contact me, VIA THE EDIT TAB on a memorial, if I have entered info of a friend or loved one and there is an error to be fixed or additions to be made.

PLEASE USE THE TAB on the specific memorial to send or suggest corrections or ask questions.

Thank you.

RE: Your question
I did a name search. That's why I know you added the memorial after I did - could have been made earlier, but was put in cemetery AFTER I entered my memorial

RE: Hilda and Edwin Williams in Chicago Heights
I submit a lot of edits every day, especially with the last name of Williams. Right now I'm working deaths of people with the surname of Williams in Cook County, Illinois, working year by year.

For Edwin, you can see a transcription of his Cook County death certificate on the free FamilySearch website at:

His WWII draft registration shows Hilda as his contact person/next of kin and shows the same DOB as his death record.

His first wife was Eleanor or something similar; I have seen Eleanor, Elanor, Elnor, and Elene, among others. She was on the 1920 U.S. Census with Edwin but not the 1930 U.S. Census. Her first married name was Fishman, and her maiden name was Hand.

You can see Hilda's death record at:

RE: GMC Turpin
Source is the archive records at Miller Woodlawn, formerly Miller Reynolds Funeral Home. They performed his Funeral Service and did the cremation of his body. He was then turned over to the US Navy in Bremerton for Burial at Sea!

I personally cleaned his wife Anna Turpins grave at Ivy Green Cemetery. It is located in section 93 Plot number 23.

I am trying to get a Memorial marker for John Henry "Dick" Turpin, since Burial at sea occurred.

RE: Son of: George Harmon & Betty Ann.
It doesn't really matter I was just confused by your reply.

Originally you had sent me an update request regarding adding his parents to his memorial!

All I was trying to tell you was I would be glad to make the updates but I don't know where his parents are buried; however, if you would kindly send that information thru find a grave I would gladly make any updates that are needed.

Just forget it. If you decide you still need the update to be made please send me the request and the updates will be made.

Have a great day, Ann

RE: Son of: George Harmon & Betty Ann.
Excuse me? I am confused by your, what appears to be, rudeness to me. Why would you send me a public message such as you sent? Am I misunderstanding something? I asked for your help and even explained why. Allow me to explain further. My mind isn't fully up to speed yet. My 29 year old daughter recently died and it nearly killed me too. So, why would you not want to help me locate this person's parents. If you have their information it would be very simple to click on the edit button in George's memorial and submit the updates. I'm sorry that I can't think well yet. I may never be able to do the things I once did. But everything I did on find a grave I have done from my heart. Because I cared about the people that no one could find, just hoping that my attempts might help someone find their loved ones. I still do care.

All I asked for is respect and kindness in return. thank you, Ann

Son of: George Harmon & Betty Ann.
*Question remains if maiden name Waters or Simson

Could you please go to the memorial. Click on edit and make the updates. I do not know where George or Betty are buried nor do I know their find a grave #s. If you have this information then please update thru the find a grave site. thank you. ;)
