Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been into genealogy since 1983 when a family member contacted me for information. Since then it has been hobby that never ends, a puzzle incomplete. The earlier years were different when I sat in libraries and historical societies throughout the northeast USA and read thru the microfiche. I did photograph headstones, but back then only because it might have been different or pretty. "Find A Grave" is a great treasure.

Living in the historic Wyoming Valley of Northeast PA, there are many cemeteries that are old and need to be preserved or logged soon.
I plan to do my share, and pass it forward .......

Since I also photograph as I travel I add many who are not of my family. If you have a family connection with any of my entries, please feel free to ask for transfer...

I HAVE WALKED AND PHOTOGRAPHED OVER 1700 HEAD STONES AT WEST PITTSTON CEMETERY, LUZERNE CO., SO I CAN POSSIBLY OFFER LOCATION HELP. Also, completed photographing Eaton Cemetery, Mosier Cemetery and other small family burying grounds

My most recent project was helping to finish the transcribed and digitization of the record books from Pittston Cemetery, and working with the negative scanning project from the Greater Pittston Historical Society ( GPHS ). Also helping to transcribe the old record books from the City of Pittston.

RE: John & Jennie Posten, Settee Cemetery
Thanks for your info about Settee Cemetery. GPS from Iphone sent us there first and we had to ask for directions to Roberts Cemetery. I didn't realize that you had "inherited" the Settee Cemetery listings. Bottom line, we found Roberts Cemetery and my grandparents grave and I now have personal, photographic proof about where they are buried! Susan Posten Ellerbee, granddaughter of John R. & Jennie A. Posten.

Robert Westlake
Hi Sharleen,

Could you please transfer my gg grandfather, Robert Westlake, 154469331, and his wife, Mary, 154469680 to me. Mary was his 3rd wife. I know Frances and Alice are also buried in this cemetery.

Thank you,

John & Jennie Posten, Settee Cemetery
Sharleen, John & Jennie are my grandparents. Their death certificates list Roberts Cemetery as the place of burial. My husband and I recently visited Roberts Cemetery on Sand Plant Road near Falls and found John & Jennie's graves. Has the cemetery changed names? If so, can that information be placed on the Find A Grave website? It is very confusing to think that a relative is buried in one cemetery, based on various documents, then discover them listed online as being buried in a different cemetery! I added pictures of their tombstone and their information to the Roberts Cemetery site on Find-A-Grave. Thanks. Susan Posten Ellerbee

RE: #181793717 Fern Klaproth
Hi Sharleen,
Gosh, I was surprised myself to have gotten her memorial, there is another woman who does every obituary here locally and I have had the same thing happen to me with close friends and relatives. I will most certainly transfer her to you, but I think I have requested links to all of her family members but Margaret Wilson who I couldn't find much about on ancestry. I normally would not have chosen her because I don't cover Hughestown, but I was inspired by her story. I worked in the medical field all my career and even worked at Nesbitt from 1994 until our return to General. I also wanted to acknowledge her military service.

No- I did not see anything about another marriage for him. I supposed if they were married in 1923, but by 1927 he was married to Ruth, that would have totally missed both 1920 & 1930 Census. If you have info to link him to someone else too, sure, send it, and if I can locate, I can link her too. Thanks!

West Pittston Cemetery
We have visited West Pittston Cemetery looking for Edmund & Jennie Touhill. You added two of their young children, Edmund and Howard Touhill. We could not locate their parents gravestones and wonder if they are buried in unmarked graves. Since you listed knowing West Pittston, I am wandering if you know the caretaker there to verify that they are in unmarked graves and possibly where. I copied a phone number down listed for a caretaker?? when we were there but the person who answers the phone always says the person in not home. So I gave up on trying to reach them. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Do you happen to remember what cemetery you were in when you took this photo?
