I am an elementary school librarian as well as an amateur genealogist. I think it is important for us to know our past in order for us to understand ourselves completely, and to always remember the ones who came before us who made our lives possible.|
Though I have been a regular photo volunteer in the past, I'm fulfilling only occasional requests at the current time for various personal reasons. I apologize for this and hope to resume requests on a consistent basis at some point in the future.
If I've cataloged a grave of one of your friends or *direct* relatives and you'd like to transfer the memorial to your account, let me know. I will be glad to take care of that for you.
NOTE: Please do not ask for mass-transfers or transfers of distant relatives. Per Find-A-Grave guidelines, only direct relatives within four generations will be transferred. (This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.) Transferring of a distant relative's monument for the sake of "owning it" is not what Find-A-Grave intended for. If you have something to add to a memorial, please send me a message and I will add it for you.
Also, please note that while I will make corrections sent through Find-A-Grave's message system, I will not respond to messages sent from within Find-a-Grave. Feel free to stop by my website and e-mail me directly if you'd like a reply.

It would be good if this Memorial could be corrected. Two Samuel's and their wife's have been merged. There needs to be two memorials so they each have their own. Samuel Allen born 1588 - died 1648 lived in Windsor and was married to Ann (surname unknown). He died in Windsor. His wife, Ann, married William Hurlburt 1649 and died under the name of Ann Hurlburt 13 Nov 1687.
He had one brother, Deacon Thomas Allen of Middletown, Connecticut. This is proved by probate records and other vital records [See book Allen Memorial.]
The other Samuel of Braintree, married Anne Whitmore and she died 1641. He then married Margaret.
These are two different families and two different set of children that keep being merged. Please, whoever, is in charge of this Memorial, please correct it.

Hi, I actually took photos today of the Joseph Massaro grave and saw your claim this evening. Let me know if you want me to post. I did it all today and I should have claimed. Sorry.

Thank you for the contributions you make to the search for our ancestors. It is very helpful and much appreciated.
I am researching two Samuel Allens with wives named Ann. It appears that some of the information about the different people has been merged together creating confusion about the different families.
According to "U.S.New England Marriages Prior to 1700" and several other sources, Samuel Allen (1588-1648) buried in Enfield Street Cemetery married Ann LNU (last name unknown).
Samuel Allen who died in 1669 married Ann/Anne Whitmore who died in 1641 in Braintree, Massachusetts.
While there is DNA data that indicates the two Samuel Allens are related, it has been difficult to find any documentation of a relationship.

|Dick Jenkins, MHS1955||William L Anderson|
I have written to you in the past when I was trying to establish a family connection with William Anderson. This Memorial Day, with the help of historians around the world I have determined that William is my cousin and the young man I recall going off to war in 1941. I have a lot to write about Bill and to associate him with our entire family resting in East Cemetery and for that reason ask if you will transfer the management of his page to me?

Thank you very much for adding these photographs to the record of my family. Matthew and Sarah Long were my great, great grandparents. Their son, Andrew, was my great grandfather. He is buried in East Cemetery, Manchester.
