|Bill Dillon||Your DILLON line|
I'm trying to determine if my DILLON line fits in with your DILLON line. I emailed you just a few minutes ago. My earliest DILLON is Reuben Miller Dillon was born somewhere in KY about 1832. Although I don't know his father's name, the father was from VA per various census records.

I had been to the cemetery before and not found it. Actually there are several that I haven't been able to find. I believe they are there about an inch maybe under the grass but I don't want to get into trouble pulling up grass to look for them. This link is where I found the listing for all of the foot stones there and that is how I found her. I'd like to go back and look for the others. I didn't know about the story about the lake and them relocating the graves until I started taking pictures there. I've driven by it a hundred times and just didn't know the history. It's been a real treat hearing from others bits and pieces of their own family histories as well. Glad I could help.

Deleted incorrect photos. Thanks for the heads-up!
I'm only distantly related to Eddie. He and I are2nd cousins 5 x removed. His great-grandfather, John Hinkle, was my 6th g-grandfather.
I just trace my cousins for fun, and if I can determine where they are buried, and they aren't already on Find-a-Grave, I add them.
If you would like to own his memorial, I'll be happy to transfer it to you.

Thank you for the message. I'm now wondering if they are the same person. I will have to go through a file box and find my original notes. I'll let you know. Pam

The cemetery name is a problem. There is a sign on the newer section, the one away from the river, that says Riverview but the obituaries I have seen, including one for a burial yesterday, identify the old section, the one by the river, as Riverview.
Also, my neighbor, who works at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral home in Chagrin Falls, says the one by the river is Riverview.
I think they should be combined as Riverview / Briar Hill. More seriously there may be a way to post a note on each telling people to check both for relatives.
I am not related to the Nutt family that I know of. My g grandfather did have a neice Helen Cole who married a Paul Nutt in Fayette Co., Pa about 1910 but that is probably a different family.
I am photographing markers in nearby cemeteries and Riverview - Briar Hill are the ones I am working on during cold weather as they are close by.
The reason is to get these markers recorded before they are lost to vandals or weather.
|William Cole||Freeman Nutt|
Freeman Nutt is not in Briar Hill. He is in Riverview cemetery across the road.
I put up a memorial and added a photo of his and Martha's marker along with other members of the Nutt family. You can have any or all of those memorials if you want them.
